Military Historical Museum of Fortifications Mikhailovskaya battery works in the fortress built in 1846. It was built as one of the 10 fortifications of Sevastopol. It received its name in honor of Prince Mikhail Nikolaevich, the son of Nicholas I.
The exposition of the museum is large and contains about 5 thousand exhibits. The main part is devoted to the history of the Crimean War of 1853-1856. Among those worthy of special attention: the one-pood Unicorn cannon of 1838; uniforms, orders and insignia, weapons of the Ottoman Empire of the 19th century; a diorama of the Battle of Balaklava in 1854; 17 Utermark furnaces that heated the barracks; weapons and items from the Great Patriotic War and much more. All subjects are presented in chronological and thematic order.
Mikhailovskaya battery is often compared with located one kilometer away Konstantinovskaya battery. Both of them are almost identical and dedicated to the same historical periods, and were built at about the same time. However, the Konstantinovskaya battery has been preserved better, you can walk on the roof there, but at the same time the Mikhailovskaya battery includes more various artifacts and exhibits. Visit both or choose one – it's up to you.
A visit to the Mikhailovskaya battery, unlike the Konstantinovskaya, is provided both independently and with an excursion escort, which lasts about an hour and a half. In addition, this battery can be visited together with the 30th armored tower battery on a single ticket within 3 days from the date of purchase of the ticket.

- Visiting only the Mikhailovskaya battery: adults - 400 rubles (independently), 600 (with a guide); schoolchildren (7-18 years old), students, pensioners - 200 rubles (independently), 300 (with a guide); children under 7 years old – free of charge. The Pushkin card is valid.
- A single ticket (valid for 3 days) to visit the Mikhailovskaya battery and the 30th armored tower battery (with a guide): adults - 900 rubles, schoolchildren (7-17 years old), students, pensioners - 400 rubles.
🚶 How to get there
Mikhailovskaya battery is located on the north side of Sevastopol Bay on Gromova St., 35 near the pier of the city ferries "Radiogorka" (Mikhailovskaya battery on the map). It is very easy to get from the center here, and it is best to use public transport, as it will be faster and much cheaper than driving 30 kilometers around the bay in one direction only.
First you need to get to the Artbukhta pier, which can be done from the center on foot or by any city buses and trolleybuses going to the embankment area. Boats and ferries worth 30 rubles depart from Artbukhta every 15 minutes to the other side of Sevastopol Bay. You need to take the route to the pier "Radiogorka", and not to the "North", do not confuse. Further from the "Radiogorka" it will take only a few minutes to get to the entrance to the museum.
If you will rest on the north side, and not in the center, then you can get to Mikhailovskaya battery on city routes No. 55 and 56 to the stop "Radiogorka".
