Konstantinovskaya Battery Museum and Exhibition Complex operates in a fortress built in 1840, which was erected to protect the northern side of Sevastopol. It received its name in honor of Prince Konstantin Pavlovich, the grandson of Catherine II.

A visit to the Konstantinovskaya battery is provided only with an excursion escort, which lasts about one hour. You will be guided through the premises of the building and will be told about the history of the construction of the fortification; architectural features and engineering inventions that made it almost impregnable; heroic deeds shown by the Russian army in repelling attacks; other events related to the fortress from the moment of construction to the present day, and much more. In general, during the tour you will learn everything or almost everything about it, and therefore we will not tell you anything about it. In addition, exhibits are on display in the halls of the museum: models of ships; authentic historical artifacts found in the fortress and coastal waters; documents and photos. At the end of the tour you will have time to walk around the courtyard and the roof, from where, by the way, there are good views of Sevastopol Bay.

The museum in the Konstantinovskaya battery, if I may say so, competes with the Mikhailovskaya Battery, which is located on the same shore just one kilometer away. And you will probably have a question which of these two museums is worth a visit. Despite the similarity of their purpose, these two batteries are very different in device and history, and therefore, if possible, we recommend visiting both of them. If there is no such possibility, then our choice remains for Konstantinovskaya, since there is more scale here and in general the tour of it seemed more interesting and intense. But the choice, of course, is yours.

🚶 How to get there

Konstantinovskaya battery is located on the north side of Sevastopol Bay (Konstantinovskaya battery on the map). It is very easy to get from the center here, and it is best to use public transport, as it will be faster and much cheaper than driving 30 kilometers around the bay in one direction only.

First you need to get to the Artbukhta pier, which can be done from the center on foot or by any city buses and trolleybuses going to the embankment area. Boats and ferries worth 30 rubles depart from Artbukhta every 15 minutes to the other side of Sevastopol Bay. You need to take the route to the pier "Radiogorka", and not to the "North", do not confuse. Further from the "Radiogorka" it will be necessary to walk 2 kilometers to the museum. It doesn't make much sense to drive these two kilometers by taxi or bus, since the last kilometer will still have to be covered on foot through the territory of the military unit, where entry is prohibited.

If you rest on the north side, and not in the center, then you can get to the Konstantinovskaya battery on city routes No. 49 and 55 to the bus stop of the same name, and then again on foot for almost a kilometer.

We remind you that it is much more interesting to get acquainted with the sights of Sevastopol with the help of excursions, and therefore we advise you to look at online booking options on these proven search and price comparison sites:

Отличный музей, нам тут понравилось больше, чем в Михайловской батарее, да и организовано все лучше: ждать начала пришлось недолго, экскурсовод рассказала и показала все самое интересное а затем дали произвольное время на самостоятельную прогулку.
