Dagomys - a small resort village in Lazarevsky District, 13 kilometers from the center of Sochi (Dagomys on the map. Despite its small size, it is one of the most developed and popular beach resorts in the Lazarevsky district. There is a good Pebble Beach, well-developed infrastructure, transport, there is a railway station. The Dagomys Zapadnaya river flows through the village, dividing it into two parts.

Dagomys is a traditional Sochi Beach Resort, a holiday in which is suitable for lovers of a relaxing holiday on the shore in a cozy atmosphere of a quiet village. Rest here will appeal to all categories and ages of vacationers, but if you are looking for a place where there are beaches and entertainment, it is better to go to another resort, such as Adler or the center of Sochi. Here the atmosphere is calmer, although it is not worth considering that it is like in the village. At the height of the beach season, the promenade is quite noisy and fun: cafes and restaurants work, simple entertainment, music plays everywhere.

The beaches in Dagomys are pebbly, only in places there is an admixture of gray sand. You can, of course, approach the water on equipped wooden walkways-decking or in ordinary beach slippers, but the pebbles are here and under water, so even in the water it will be uncomfortable to stand.

The depth is mostly large, already five meters from the shore you will find yourself shoulder-deep in water. The water is clear most of the time, but after storms and rains it can become very muddy, especially at the mouth of the river. The fact is that after the rains it brings with it garbage and clay silt, which makes the sea water yellow, but usually it passes within a day or two after bad weather.

Infrastructure in Dagomys

In the village there are the usual chain stores "magnet", "Pyaterochka", "red and white", there is even a branded economy market "Fix-price", there is a tourist market and shops with goods for tourists on the embankment. Of course, at every step they offer to buy wine, Chacha, honey, tea and similar tourist goods. There are no large shopping centers here, but if you need to buy something serious, you can easily get to the center of Sochi by bus or taxi, for example, to the huge shopping center "Moremall" by bus number 81.

Excursions, transfers, taxis, tickets for events, concerts and other tourist services are offered at distributors on the embankment and streets of the village, in hotels. You can eat in cafes, restaurants or family self-service canteens, where lunch will cost around 200 rubles/person. Most budget accommodation options and apartments in Dagomys are equipped with a shared or individual kitchen, so you can save on food if you buy food and cook yourself. As usual, the price of products is lower in chain supermarkets, but if you want to buy local and the freshest, it is better to go to the Central Market on Gaidar street or to the weekend fair "Privoz" on Armavir Street.

In Dagomys there is accommodation for tourists with a limited budget, as well as expensive hotels and apartments equated to three stars. In general, prices for all categories of accommodation here are acceptable, but in the peak season in July and August they unreasonably increase, so we recommend booking in advance before the start of the season. But in the spring and in the velvet season you can save a lot on accommodation.

With the choice of accommodation in Dagomys, everything is simple: the closer to the beach, the better. Ideally, you should choose a hotel within walking distance from the City Beach, since all tourist infrastructure and entertainment are located here. If you settle far from the beach, you will have to walk quite far every day, but getting to the beach by car is not an option, since the streets here are very narrow, there is little parking space.

Weather in Dagomys and tourist seasons

Dagomys is a typical Black Sea beach resort, so in winter there is absolutely nothing to do here. However, you can come to rest here not only in the summer months, but also in spring or autumn. True, there are some subtleties of rest in the off-season:

Comfortable and mild weather persists until mid-October.
🌨 do not go from November to April. In these months it is too cold and uncomfortable for beach holidays and swimming, the tourist infrastructure is "on pause", everything is closed, there is nowhere to even eat.

How to get to Dagomys

The resort village of Dagomys is located on the coast in the Lazarevsky District of Sochi, just 13 kilometers from the city center (Dagomys on the map). However, do not let this proximity to the center mislead you. The fact is that despite the short distance to travel on the road due to traffic jams and serpentine will take at least 30 minutes. By train you can get there in 13 minutes, but along with waiting for the train you will spend all the same half an hour.

By plane, you can fly here through one of the two nearest airports: Sochi International Airport and Krasnodar airport. It is better to fly to Sochi, because getting from it is much easier and faster. In Dagomys there is a railway station, or rather even a stopping point, where trains and trains stop. But long-distance trains from other regions mostly stop here only in the form of a technical stop, i.e. it is impossible to get on or off the train here. Accordingly, to get to Dagomys by train from cities not in the Krasnodar Territory, you need to buy tickets to the nearest stations in Loo or in the center of Sochi.

You can get to Dagomys only on Sochi city flights or on passing intercity buses to the center of Sochi or to Adler. These are flights from Moscow and neighboring regions (Rostov-on-Don, Stavropol, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kislovodsk, Makhachkala, Astrakhan, Yalta, Kislovodsk). Intercity buses do not make an official stop here, which means you will have to negotiate with the driver, and also overpay a little for the ticket, since the final destination will not be Dagomys.

Coming by car to rest in Dagomys at first glance seems like a good idea, but usually those who have visited Sochi in the high season on their car try not to do so anymore, but prefer a plane or train. The reason for this is the difficult road situation on the site after Dzhubga, and sometimes earlier after Goryachy Klyuch. The road here is mountainous with serpentines and eternal traffic jams, there are difficulties with parking in the place of rest. We advise you to abandon the idea of traveling by car, if you only need to get to the place of rest and there are no plans to actively move to other resorts.

Attractions and entertainment in Dagomys

Despite the laudatory descriptions of Dagomys in commercial and fake internet guides, attractions and interesting places in Dagomys and its surroundings "the cat did not cry". In fact, directly in Dagomys there are only a few interesting places that can be visited without long trips to neighboring areas and cities: the Museum of Krasnodar tea and retro cars and "tea houses" and tea plantations, Dagomys troughs.

For example, in some fake internet guides, the sights of Dagomys even include Mount Fisht, which in fact is not even in the Krasnodar Territory, but in the Republic of Adygea, 280 kilometers from the resort. In addition, you can see Fisht and climb this mountain only during a full trekking trip with an overnight stay in tents and appropriate experience. So we advise you to be wary of unverified guidebooks.

Fortunately, in the Lazarevsky district, in which Dagomys is located, you can find many natural and historical attractions, visit tourist attractions and a museum. So, relatively close is the center of Sochi and the village of loo, where you can go during the day by car, bus or train to get acquainted with the sights there. We strongly advise you not to use Road Transport (Taxi, personal or rented car, buses) to get acquainted with the sights in Greater Sochi, and if possible, take trains. The fact is that due to frequent traffic jams and difficult traffic on road transport, you will spend most of the time on the road, and you will have to go along the "nauseating" serpentines and stand in Tests under the scorching sun. And on an air-conditioned train you will pass this way much faster and more comfortably.

Tourist entertainment in Dagomys is not very much, but you will not die of boredom here.
