The resort village of Dagomys is located on the coast in the Lazarevsky District of Sochi, just 13 kilometers from the city center (Dagomys on the map). However, do not let this proximity to the center mislead you. The fact is that despite the short distance, it will take at least 30 minutes to travel by road due to traffic jams and serpentine. By train you can get there in 13 minutes, but along with waiting for the train you will spend all the same half an hour.

From the cities and regions of the Russian Federation, it is most convenient to get to Dagomys on your own by plane through Sochi airport, which is about an hour's drive away. From the airport directly to the place of rest you can get by taxi, electric trains, Sochi city buses or rented transport, which we describe in detail below.

By train at the height of the summer season in Dagomys you can get from almost any region and city of the Russian Federation. However, it should be borne in mind that not all long-distance trains stop at the local station, so you will have to go to the neighboring stations in Loo or in the center of Sochi, and there change to a taxi, city bus or train.

Very tempting is the option to come here on vacation in a private car. It is really convenient and relatively inexpensive, but definitely we will not recommend a trip on a personal car, because there are too many difficulties associated with this.

By plane to Dagomys

By plane, you can fly here through one of the two nearest airports: Sochi International Airport and Krasnodar airport. It is better to fly to Sochi, because getting from it is much easier and faster.

You can fly to Sochi Airport (aka Adler airport) with a direct flight from Moscow, St. Petersburg and most major regions of the Russian Federation, and in the high season (in summer) many charters from tour operators are launched, which makes prices for ready-made tours even more attractive than a direct flight with a regular flight. In the low season, direct flights from some regions of Russia are reduced to one or two per week or are not performed at all, so in autumn, winter or spring you may have to fly with a transfer through Moscow, Krasnodar or Rostov-on-Don.

How to get from Sochi airport to Dagomys

The most comfortable and expensive way is a taxi, the fastest is an electric train, if it fits the schedule for your arrival. You can also take city buses (not recommended), rent a car at the airport for daily rent or use per-minute carsharing rental.

  You can use an official airport taxi, order a car through the applications of aggregators Yandex. Taxi, Uber, Gett and Citymobil, or accept offers from private "bombers".   Trains run several times a day strictly on schedule and without delay, so we recommend them as the best way to get there, if they suit you on schedule.

  In Dagomys, trains arrive at the station of the same name in the very center of the resort near the beach. From there to your hotel you can get on foot or by taxi from 100 rubles.

  There are no direct buses from the airport to Dagomys, you will have to go with a transfer in the center of Sochi. With a successful combination of circumstances, the road will take 2-3 hours, but because of traffic jams, you can go longer. Often you have to go in crowded buses, so we advise you to use this transport only in extreme cases.

  Here is the trip algorithm:

  • First get to the center of Sochi. The city bus stop at the airport is located immediately at the exit from the arrivals hall on the lower level. Payment of the fare at the entrance to the driver by card or cash. From the stop to the center of Sochi there are only two flights: No. 105 and No. 105C (express). These are passing buses that depart every 45-60 minutes from 05:00 to 20:00. You need to go to the railway station in the center of Sochi.

  • Transfer to the bus directly to Dagomys. From the center to Dagomys there is a bus and minibuses No. 75, 76, 77. depart every 15 minutes, 20-30 minutes on the way.

• Rent a car

  You can rent a car at the reception in the arrivals hall, or get a pre-booked car via the internet. Available long-term rental (from 1300 rubles / day) and carsharing with Per-Minute payment Belkacar from 6 rubles/minute. Unfortunately, while in Dagomys there is no parking zone and the end of the trip Belkacar, i.e. you will not be able to come here to one of the airports and finish the trip. Therefore, you must first arrive in Dagomys, drop off the family and unload things at the hotel, and then return and leave the car in the end zone of the trip in the center of Sochi. By train to Dagomys

In Dagomys there is a railway station, or rather even a stopping point, where trains and trains stop. But long-distance trains from other regions mostly stop here only in the form of a technical stop, i.e. it is impossible to get on or off the train here. Accordingly, to get to Dagomys by train from cities not in the Krasnodar Territory, you need to buy tickets to the nearest stations in Loo or in the center of Sochi.

There is no fundamental difference which of these stations to choose: they are at the same distance. You can get directly to the place of rest in Dagomys by taxi from 400 rubles and in 30 minutes. By bus, the trip will cost from 28 rubles. To take the bus, from Loo station you need to walk 10 minutes to the bus stop. And from the railway station you can walk a couple of minutes to the nearby railway station and the final city buses. Buses run along this route№№ 75, 76, 77, 148, 148, 150, 151. you can also transfer to the train, if it suits you according to the schedule, the fare costs 40 rubles.

By bus to Dagomys

Dagomys can only be reached by Sochi city buses or by passing intercity buses to the center of Sochi or Adler. These are flights from Moscow and neighboring regions (Rostov-on-Don, Stavropol, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kislovodsk, Makhachkala, Astrakhan, Yalta, Kislovodsk). Intercity buses do not make an official stop here, which means you will have to negotiate with the driver, and also overpay a little for the ticket, since the final destination will not be Dagomys.

In general, we do not recommend using buses on long-distance routes. The fact is that the last few hours of the journey will pass along the mountain serpentines of the coastal highway with a long standstill in traffic jams on the site after Dzhubga, which is unlikely to add pleasant impressions to your rest. However, this is the only option if you need to get here from the cities and resorts of the Krasnodar Territory, in which there is no railway connection. This is for example Dzhubga, Gelendzhik, Arkhipo-Osipovka, Anapa, Novorossiysk and other cities and resorts to the North Tuapse.

By car to Dagomys

Coming by car to rest in Dagomys at first glance seems like a good idea, but usually those who have visited Sochi in the high season on their car try not to do so anymore, but prefer a plane or train. The reason for this is the difficult road situation on the site after Dzhubga, and sometimes earlier after Goryachy Klyuch. The road here is mountainous with serpentines and eternal traffic jams, there are difficulties with parking in the place of rest. We advise you to abandon the idea of traveling by car, if you only need to get to the place of rest and there are no plans to actively move to other resorts.

Especially a lot of trouble for drivers brings a section of the road with a length of 150 kilometers after Dzhubga in the direction of Sochi. It is almost always in traffic jams, and at the height of the tourist season it can take up to 6 hours to overcome it. If possible, plan its passage at night or early in the morning. Alternatively, you can go around the Dzhubga-Tuapse road through the Shahumyan pass, but this is 75 kilometers more, besides, you will have to drive 7 kilometers through the pass on a terribly dusty and uncomfortable gravel road. If you decide to go through the pass, then the decision on the detour should be made in Krasnodar or, in extreme cases, in Goryachy Klyuch, since later you can not turn off the detour.

How to get to Dagomys from other resorts in Sochi

Dagomys is connected with other villages and resorts of Sochi by city buses and trains. We advise you to use trains, because it is faster and more comfortable. But a bus ride along local serpentines with constant stops and dispersals leads to nausea and dizziness even in adults, let alone children. In addition, to get by bus from the airport and resorts south of the center (Adler, Khosta, Matsesta, etc.), you will have to make a transfer in the center.
