Novorossiysk (Novorossiysk) - a city in the Krasnodar Territory on the Black Sea coast approximately in the middle between the resort cities of Anapa and Gelendzhik (Novorossiysk on the map). This is a fairly large and developed city with a population of just under 300 thousand people.

Despite the fact that Novorossiysk is located on the seashore and there are beaches, it is rarely considered as a full-fledged beach resort for recreation. Perhaps the main reason for this is the extremely bad environmental situation due to large industrial enterprises and the largest seaport.

Therefore, more often vacationers prefer to stay in neighboring touristically more developed and cozy resort cities and towns in the neighborhood: Gelendzhik, Kabardinka, Anapa, Vityazevo, Abrau-Durso, etc. Novorossiysk is usually considered only as a place for excursions to sights and memorable places of the Second World War, as well as as a transport hub. It is in Novorossiysk that there is a railway station through which you can get by train to the resorts of Greater Gelendzhik, since there is no railway in Gelendzhik itself.

Novorossiysk is located on the shores of Tsemesskaya Bay, which is well protected from waves and winds. And finally the cleanest and most pleasant place for a beach holiday – myshako Beach. This is a separate resort village of Myshako, which at the same time is part of Novorossiysk. The beach is small, only 200 meters, but there is enough space even in the season. The village itself is quiet and calm, and much more environmentally friendly than Novorossiysk. Conveniently, Myshako is easily accessible from the center by city buses.

As we have already mentioned, Novorossiysk is rarely considered by vacationers and tourists as a place to stop for the entire period of their vacation. More often people come to the city just for one-day excursions from neighboring resorts.

Nevertheless, the city has enough hotels and budget accommodation options in private guest houses and rental housing, rented for a short time. "Star" hotels here are few. In fact, there is only one "four-star" and several equated to "three-star". Prices for accommodation in Novorossiysk are lower than in neighboring beach resorts, but you should not expect very low prices.

If you plan to stay in the city for a couple of nights with sightseeing purposes, it is best to choose accommodation in the central part of the city near the Forum square embankment. In this case, almost the entire city will be at your disposal for hiking. However, we do not advise you to settle in the industrial zone and behind the railway: it's too far away, and we don't live very comfortably.
