Gelendzhik embankment is very long, stretches almost along the entire city Bay and beaches for almost eight kilometers! Of course, in different places it differs in arrangement and beauty, but in general it can be completely unhindered from beginning to end, which makes it the longest embankment in the Krasnodar Territory.

The most developed and interesting part for walking is located closer to the center of the resort and the area of Tolstiy Mys, this is the left side of the Bay. Olympus amusement park is located on the top of a mountain near the city. A chairlift leads to the top, which in itself is already entertainment. There is a ferris wheel, an observation deck, a 3D planetarium, an extreme carousel, and the very inscription "Gelendzhik" on the mountainside, which can be seen from anywhere in the city. Golden Bay Water Park

The Golden Bay is considered the largest open water park in Russia. It is really huge, it has a lot of modern slides for adults, there are children's slides, a recreation and swimming area, children's pools, a wave pool. Unfortunately, the water is not heated, so it is better to choose hot sunny days for visiting, but during the wind and cloudy weather, children can be cool. On the territory there is a cafe with high prices, you can not bring your own food. A bottle of drinking water is provided free of charge.

Water Park "Behemoth"

The new water park "behemoth "has been operating since 2016, and is a good alternative to the "Golden Bay" if you need to save some money. Rates for visiting here are lower and more flexible, there are family discounts, etc. But, of course, you should be prepared for some inconveniences compared to larger water parks: there are no mats for the descent, not a very wide variety of slides and pools, not all slides are available to children up to 160 centimeters tall, while such children are charged as adults.

Amusement park

There are quite a lot of attractions in Gelendzhik, they are found almost everywhere along the entire length of the embankment and on the beaches. But the main concentration of the most modern and extreme entertainment is located opposite the central beach, where several amusement parks operate at once. So if you want to get everything at once in one place, then immediately go here. And at 17:00 on some days, children's foam parties and shows for 400 rubles are held on the site next to the park.

Sunny Island Amusement Park

Another amusement park with attractions and children's entertainment is located on the embankment in the central part of the bay opposite Sunny Beach. Unlike the park near the Central Beach, entertainment here is more focused on children than adults, i.e. there are no extreme attractions here. But there are all kinds of shooting galleries, children's fishing, swings and carousels, trampolines, there is a Ferris wheel. Prices here are even slightly lower than near the Central One.

Dolphinarium

Gelendzhik indoor Dolphinarium offers classic performances of marine animals: sea lion, seals and Black Sea bottlenose dolphins. During the show, you can get so close to the animals that you will be splashed, which delights children and "scares" parents with cameras. At the end of the show, a drawing and auction of paintings painted by Dolphins are held. For an additional fee of 400 rubles, you can take pictures with dolphins, and for 3000 rubles swim with them in the pool. Tunnel aquarium

This is a pseudo-tunnel Aquarium, in which fish are not kept in one large aquarium in the form of a tunnel, but in many small aquariums located in the form of a tunnel. Moreover, in the upper aquariums there are no inhabitants, only water. It contains one small reef shark, a moray eel, a couple of crocodiles, a chameleon, a python, a lot of colored exotic fish, and for some reason raccoons, monkeys and birds.

Oceanarium

A small aquarium, but rather just an exhibition of exotic fish that are contained in ordinary aquariums. It is interesting except that in a large aquarium in the middle there is a small reef shark, and also in the hall there is a cast of the jaw of the fossil shark Megalodon. Please note that it is a cast, i.e. a copy, and not a real jaw. In the Hall of the aquarium there is a free guide who gives some information about the inhabitants.

White Horse gallery

This is a private museum of Modern Art, dedicated to the theme of respect for nature and ecology. The author of the museum, artist Nina Nikiforova, tries to draw attention to environmental problems with the help of exhibits and works of art made from recycled materials, that is, in fact, from garbage, so the gallery received the popular name "garbage Museum". The exhibition consists of three sections: in the open air, in the summer pavilion and in the exhibition hall. During the visit, you can chat with the artist, buy some of her works or a book of her authorship with an autograph.

Dinosaur park

This has already become a traditional form of entertainment – a theme park with moving figures of dinosaurs. The figures, of course, do not walk in the park, but only move their limbs, heads and make sounds. And there is also a sandbox with dinosaur "bones" so that children can play archaeologists. It will be interesting for middle-aged and younger children, adults have nothing to do here.

Beach activities

On the beaches of Gelendzhik there is a full set of water activities for children and adults. You can ride a banana, master water skiing, rise above the water on a parachute, swim on a catamaran, cut the waves on a rented jet ski and much more. It is very close to the center and the beach, easy to reach on foot. For private transport there is a spacious free parking, and this, by the way, is one of the few places in Kabardinka where you can park for free. From Gelendzhik you can get to the stop "Old Park" by bus number 31, or by any other bus to the bus station Kabardinka, and from there 20 minutes on foot. Also from Gelendzhik, the park can be visited with an excursion from 300 rubles+entrance to the park.

• Roman Empire theme park

  

  This is one of the attractions and entertainment for a family visit, which can be safely attributed to the number of mandatory visits during a holiday in the resorts of Gelendzhik, especially if you are with children. • Dolmen complex in Pshada

  

  Near the village of Pshada on the farm there are four large dolmens equipped for tourist visits: Maya and Khan, tenderness, Tor. For this purpose, hiking trails are equipped, there is a layout, other infrastructure is equipped: a cafe, an artificial mini-waterfall, an entertainment shooting range. Local produce can be purchased at the farmer's shop. As for the dolmens themselves, as the owners of the farm say-they are original, i.e. not a replica or restoration.   🚶 How to get there: the Dolmen complex is located on the territory of a farm three kilometers from the village of Pshada on the M4-don highway (dolmens of Pshada on the map. From Gelendzhik here 30 kilometers, from Arkhipo-Osipovka - 23 kilometers. It is best to get here by private car or with an excursion, but you can get there by any passing bus from Gelendzhik in the direction of Jubgi and Krasnodar, and from Arkhipo-Osipovka, respectively, towards Gelendzhik. You need to get off at the stop at the turn in the direction of the village of Betta.

• Dolmen in a wide gap

  

  Dolmen in a wide gap – one of the most accessible of Gelendzhik ancient structures of this kind, and free. Its age according to various estimates is from 1000 to 2000 years, and the purpose is not known for certain. Specifically, this Dolmen has the "popular" name "procreation", but what it is connected with, we could not find out. Like other dolmens, this one is considered a place of power. • Battery No. 394 captain Zubkov

  

  This battery of protective artillery guns is located on a coastal hill, from where the waters of Novorossiysk Bay are perfectly visible. • Novorossiysk

  

  Novorossiysk is a hero city that earned this title during the Great Patriotic War due to its important strategic role and fierce battles to protect it. It has preserved many iconic and memorable sights of that period, so we recommend that you definitely visit Novorossiysk during your vacation in Gelendzhik. During a day trip to the city, you will be able to visit at least the waterfront with memorable monuments, the cruiser Museum, the historical and Local History Museum, as well as other thematic museums.   🚶 How to get there: Novorossiysk is located 35 kilometers from Gelendzhik. The easiest way to visit it with a one-day group sightseeing tour, which are sold on the streets of the resort from 650 rubles. During the day, you can take the buses that depart from the old and new bus stations (see how to get to Gelendzhik by bus), by taxi or private car.

• Dolmens and waterfalls on the river Jean

  

  This is a hiking tourist scenic route of medium difficulty along the river Jean. You can overcome it completely without the experience of hiking, you only need time and effort. On the route you can see several waterfalls and water slides, several ancient dolmens. Also in this area there are many archaeological sites and mounds, but there is not much to see. As for the waterfalls, they are spectacular only in the season of heavy rains in winter or spring, but in summer their appearance can disappoint. But in the pools at their foot you can swim, so do not forget a bathing suit.

  The tourist route is paid, although there are quite a few trails for free passage. After the entrance, the first tiny waterfall will meet after 50 meters, it is free. Then, after paying at the checkpoint, you will have to walk along the path one and a half kilometers to the clearing with dolmens, and then another 2 kilometers past the waterfalls to the cafe at the end of the route. Go back the same way.

  🚶 How to get there: the beginning of the route is located in the village of Vozrozhdenie next to the M4-don Highway, 15 kilometers from Gelendzhik (waterfalls on the river Jean on the map. Excursions from the resorts of Greater Gelendzhik are offered here, but you can visit yourself on any bus from the new Gelendzhik bus station towards Dzhubga, or on suburban buses No. 106, 107, 112, 117/1 from the Old Bus Station (this is Cheaper). For personal transport in front of the entrance there is a parking lot worth 200 rubles, or you can leave the car for free on the side of the road before turning or on the streets of the village.

• Pshad waterfalls

  

  This is one of the most famous and picturesque natural attractions in the Greater Gelendzhik area, but also one of the most inaccessible. The fact is that they are located on the Pshada River and its numerous tributaries, and you can only get to them by SUV during a group tour or on foot during multi-day hikes. In total, there are about 100 waterfalls and water slides in the valley of the Pshada River. Most of them are small, no more than 1 meter in height. But there are also "Giants" by local standards: Olyapkin or Bolshoy Pshadsky on a tributary of the Red River with a height of 9 to 18 meters according to various estimates, and several more unnamed waterfalls up to 7 meters high. • Thunder Gate

  

  Wuthering gate is the scenery left after the filming of the famous movie "Wuthering gate". They are a stone fortress on Mount Abin with other decorations and attributes used in the filming of the film. Nearby there are stalls selling souvenirs, it is offered to take pictures with the form of paratroopers and with weapons (for a fee). And one kilometer from here there is an abandoned cafe with a park of wooden sculptures "Valkyrie", but it can be visited only with an independent trip or with an individual guide, and group tours are not brought there.

  Thunder Gate specifically as an independent attraction is rarely visited, it is just one of the places during more complex tourist routes and excursions.

• The sunken ship "Rio"

  

  This is a new attraction in Gelendzhik district, located on the shore near Kabardinka. A multi-tonnage cargo ship ran aground on the shore in 2018 during a severe storm. To get there yourself, you first need to go ashore at the end of Mira Street, and from there walk along the shore for one and a half kilometers. But to get to the shore, you will either have to go through the Nadezhda keping checkpoint, or go down a steep and dangerous path from the monument to those who died on the Admiral Nakhimov steamer (we do not recommend it). Another option is a relatively gentle path from SNT DOB and Banner through the mountains. This trail is marked on openstreet Yandex map editor and in the apps Organic Maps and others.

• Korolenko House Museum

  The House Museum is located in the architectural monument built in 1901-1902. Drawings and plans for its construction the writer created himself, because he was a very versatile creative person. The museum has preserved the interior and exterior, exhibited personal belongings of the author, documents and photographs. The exposition of the first floor is dedicated to the writer, and the second floor tells about everyday life and country interiors at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries. In the courtyard you can see the Lebanese cedar and Dolmen planted more than a hundred years ago.

  Although V. I. Korolenko is not very well known to most modern tourists, this does not make the House Museum any less interesting. Therefore, even if you are not familiar with his work, we still advise you to visit this museum, especially if you stop for a rest directly in Dzhankhot. It is better to visit the museum with a tour, which is available for an additional fee when buying tickets. • Pump room of Sheba mineral water

  

  This is not exactly an attraction worth visiting, however, if you are traveling by car and decided to take a ride to the sights in the vicinity of Gelendzhik, for example, to the dolmen of inspiration in a Wide Gap, then we advise you to make a stop near the pump room. Here, for a nominal fee of 4 rubles / liter, you can collect fresh mineral water "Gelendzhik" from the Sheba well with a depth of 400 meters. This mineral water is useful for diseases of the cardiovascular system, gastrointestinal tract, diabetes, as well as for the prevention of health. Water is considered very tasty, can be stored for a long time (preferably in the dark and cool room). Locals use it in large quantities as drinking water, and even for cooking.
