Taling Ngam Beach (Taling Ngam, Talingnam, also Five Islands Beach or Five Islands Beach) is located on the west coast of Koh Samui (Taling Ngam beach on the map), and this is a very long area, almost five kilometers of coastline. This is one of the quietest and most secluded beaches of Koh Samui. In addition, in the opinion of tourists who have visited this beach, this place is as close as possible to the beach ideal of "Bounty". The sand here is very fine and pleasant, the coastal strip is incredibly beautiful, swapping the sandy strip for beautiful steep cliffs. And the water here is obscenely transparent.
But, unfortunately, the ideal beach corresponds only during high tides, and even then not everywhere. Due to the shallow depth and gentle profile of the bottom, during low tide the water goes very far, leaving natural debris, usually hidden under water. Therefore, when planning a trip to this beach, it is best to take care in advance and find out the schedule of tides so that the tides fall at night and the tides during the day. But even during high tides it is difficult to find a suitable place for swimming here, because sharp stones, algae and sea urchins are hidden everywhere under the water, the bottom is often slippery and muddy. Without special protective beach shoes, it is better not to go into the water here. The beach is cleaned only in rare places opposite rare hotels and restaurants, so you should always be prepared for surprises in the form of beer bottles and algae on the snow-white sand.

In fact, they change depending on the position of the sun, the moon, the terrain and many other factors. Therefore, it is never possible to say unequivocally, for example, that there are tides in a particular resort in the morning and ebbs in the evenings. To determine the level of tides on Koh Samui, you need to use special calculated forecast charts.
One of the really interesting activities on the water here are boat trips that open up wonderful views of the coast Koh Samui from the sea, and no less spectacular views of the nearby islands. And if you sail by boat away from the shore, you can have plenty of swimming. By the way, it is not necessary to hire a boat with a boatman here, you can rent a simple boat for independent walks.
The infrastructure here is poorly developed. There are only a few hotels, and not cheap ones. There are no budget cafes, travel agencies, shops, attractions, or anything else here.
You can get to Taling Ngam only by taxi, Songteo fixed-route taxis do not go here. The cost of a taxi ride from the airport will cost from 1000 baht, a trip in a minivan will cost 600 baht.
