Lipa Noi Beach/Raja Ferry is located on the west coast of Koh Samui Islands in a bay just over a kilometer long (Lipa Noi Beach/Raja Ferry on the map of Koh Samui). It is often called Lipa Noi, but sometimes it is also called Raja Ferry because of the ferry pier Raja Pier (also known as Lipa Noi pier) located here. It is also considered to be part of the large the beach and the Lipa-Noi area.

The beach here is basically not bad: the water is clean, the sand is very fine and pleasant, there are no stones in the water, and there are almost never people. The bottom goes under the water very gradually. What's bad here is the strong influence of low tides and the presence of a marina almost in the middle of the beach.

There is practically nothing from the infrastructure here, except for the port and a couple of hotels with their own territory. A very secluded, one might even say isolated place. To buy at least something, you will have to go to the capital of the island, the city of Nathon. There is basically no entertainment, even on the beach there is nothing. All the time here you will have to spend either on the hotel grounds or on the beach, because there is nowhere to go.

You can get to Lipa Noi/Raja Ferry from the airport by taxi from 900 baht. Songteo shuttle buses from the most popular beaches of Koh Samui also go to the pier. The Raja Ferry pier itself is an important and only international seaport of Koh Samui. You can get here from Phangan Island for 220 baht (ferries from Phangan depart to 05:00, 07:00, 10:00, 13:00, 17:00) and Donsak Pier (Donsak) in Surat Thani on the mainland for 150 baht (depart from the mainland every hour from 05:00 to 19:00).

To summarize: The area and the beach of Lipa Noi/Raja Ferry is perfect for those who want to relax in seclusion, away from the noise and fun. There will only be a beach, a forest, villages and... a marina around. Beach holidays here are not bad, but there is no entertainment on the beach. Hotels here are only expensive, with their own territory, where you will spend all the time, because there is nowhere to even walk.
