Bang Kao Beach (Bang Kao, also Bang Kao, Bang Khao) is located in the south of Koh Samui (Bang Khao beach on the map), and this is a fairly extensive area. Objectively, this is one of the worst beaches on Koh Samui.

Although the coastal strip looks attractive because of the palm trees and coniferous trees growing almost at the water's edge, if you get closer, you can find a lot of household garbage and all kinds of waste under the trees. And the sand on most of the beach is littered with natural debris from the leaves and peel of coconuts.

The beach itself is practically not suitable for swimming on all of its five kilometers. Almost everywhere the bottom is dotted with corals and stones, but even where there are none, you will not be able to swim, because there is no depth, and you need to go a good half kilometer to get the water up to your waist.

Perhaps the only advantages of Bang Tao are its privacy and very fine pleasant sand. It can also be interesting to wander knee-deep in the water and watch the underwater life without a mask, since there are no waves, the water is very transparent, and the inhabitants huddle almost at its very surface.

Get to Bang Khao it won't work by minibus (Songteo), they don't go here. You can only get there by taxi or by renting a transport.

As for the area itself, it is a real wilderness, and apart from a few marinas for boats to the nearest islands and a couple of cafes, there is no infrastructure for tourists in the entire area. The only attractions are laem Sor Pagoda on the western tip of the island. There are only a few hotels here, but the area is popular as a place where you can rent a villa or a room inexpensively.
