Hin Lat Waterfall (Hin Lad) nothing special would stand out from the many others on Koh Samui, if not for the eponymous forest temple monastery Wat Hin Lad located here. It is forested because it is located right in the jungle among the trees. This is a very pleasant place to walk in the shade of trees among the temple buildings, which is used by local residents, and they come here en masse on weekends. There are also gazebos for meditation.
About the waterfall itself. It is small and not the most beautiful on the island. At its foot there is a natural swimming pool. But the most interesting thing about the waterfall is that you need to get to it on foot through the jungle along the path and stairs. On the way to the main waterfall, you can meet several more cascades.
Unfortunately, the waterfall looks impressive only during the rainy season. In the dry or high season, it can completely dry out, turning into a thin trickle of water.

🚶 How to get there
The temple and waterfall are located in the west of the island, a couple of kilometers from . Naton (Hin Lat on the map). It is best to go there by your own transport, but if you wish, you can also take a minibus along the ring road to the intersection, and from there walk 15 minutes to the entrance to the temple and waterfall. Further to the waterfall you need to walk along the stairs and paths through the jungle for another 20-40 minutes. There are two ways here: one on the right side along the river by signs (it is more convenient and faster) or on the left side of the river, where the path is less convenient, and in places it practically stops, you have to move over rocks and trees.
