Walking area R-Walk or Ratchaprasong Skywalk in Bangkok

The R-Walk walking Area or Ratchaprasong Skywalk is a network of concrete pedestrian crossings in the Pratunam district in the heart of Bangkok, located above the highways and streets of the area for moving and walking. If you suddenly don't know yet, then the Pratunam district is the main shopping district of Bangkok, modern and noisy, built up with skyscrapers and huge shopping malls. It is here that such shopping centers and malls as CentralwOrl, MBK, Gaysorn Plaza, Siam Paragon, Big C hypermarket, and a huge number of street markets are located. In general, if there is anywhere to go shopping in Bangkok, it's definitely best to go here.

Actually, it is primarily for moving between large shopping centers that this walking area will be convenient. Concrete paths are equipped with a roof and stairs, have transitions at the skytrain station, so you can get around all the coolest shopping malls and almost half of the Pratunam district without even setting foot on the ground. It is also convenient to use these crossings just for walking around the area, especially since in some places it is almost impossible to walk on foot on the sidewalks because of the shops and cars and motorbikes parked at the wrong place.

In addition to shopping centers, R-Walk is interesting because there are 8 important city shrines along it. Among them is the famous Erawan shrine, as well as the shrine of Ganesha, Lakshmi and others. You can see information about these shrines on information boards during a walk, there are maps with their location, pointers and QR codes to sites with their description.
