Simferopol International Airport (SIP) - main air gate to the peninsula Crimea. Actually at the moment (2018) this is the only civilian airport in Crimea.

Although the airport has international status, in fact, only domestic flights from Russian cities are operated to it. The main part of flights is seasonal, it falls on the summer period, but there are also year-round regular flights from Moscow, St. Petersburg and major regions.

Airfare to Simferopol is maintained at a low level due to state subsidies for the development of tourism in the region. The difference in price between a train ride in a compartment and an Air flight to Simferopol is small. How to get from Simferopol airport

Simferopol airport is located in the central part of the Crimean Peninsula, 17 kilometers from the city (see. on the map). To the coast and resorts from here you will have to go at least 1 hour, but thanks to the well-developed public transport, this can be done very inexpensively.

How to get from Simferopol airport to the city

From the airport to the center of Simferopol can be reached by taxi, bus, trolleybus, taxis.

• Taxi.

  The taxi stand is located immediately at the exit from the terminal. A trip to the city center will cost from 300 rubles.

• By trolley and bus.

  Many buses and trolleybuses go to the city center. Departure takes place from the ring and the bus station, located about 50 meters from the exit, if you go straight and a little to the right.

  Almost all buses and trolleybuses pass through the Kurortnaya bus station, where you can take a bus to almost any point in the Crimea or by train; then the buses go to the city center, and some continue to the Central Bus Station. The fare starts from 7 rubles. Tickets are purchased at the entrance and composted in the cabin. If you do not compost, you will be considered a "hare".

  If you are going to stay in Simferopol itself, then it is best to go to the very center to Kirov Avenue (a good landmark is the Silpo store and the pedestrian zone near the intersection of Kirov Avenue and Lenin Street). If you want to continue further along the Crimea, it is better to go to the Central Bus Station of Simferopol or to the bus station "Kurortnaya" next to the railway station. Most often, buses to all corners of the Crimea depart from the Kurortnaya bus station.

  

• Trolleybus-Aeroexpress.

  In the season of 2015, the Aeroexpress round-the-clock trolleybus was launched, which goes to the Simferopol railway station and the Kurortnaya bus station. The fare in it is 27 rubles. Tickets are sold at the ticket office of the bus station. If you believe the above schedule, the Aeroexpress departs approximately every 20 minutes, even at night, but in practice the departure is delayed.

• Taxi.

• Fixed-route taxis.

  Near the bus station is constantly on duty a lot of private taxi drivers who offer at an affordable price to get to different places in the Crimea. • Rent a car

Airport infrastructure, layout, terminals

Simferopol airport is very simple and small, with a minimum of amenities and infrastructure. There are three terminals, two of them Passenger: Terminal A and Terminal B.

Terminal A is intended for Arrival and departure of passengers, and Terminal B is only for departure. i.e. upon arrival you definitely get to Terminal A, and departures are carried out from both terminals and distributed among airlines (Aeroflot — Russian Airlines, Donavia, Russia and Orenburg airlines from Terminal A, the rest from B). Both terminals are within walking distance of each other.

There is almost nothing in the terminals, especially in Departure Terminal A. Even the toilet there is one and small, the registration area is very cramped and there are not enough seats. Therefore, try to check in as soon as possible and get into the waiting area for departure. There are cafes and shops in Terminal B, but the prices are very high. At night, most of the shops and cafes are closed.

Keep in mind that during the peak season, the airport can hardly cope with the load, which causes delays in boarding, baggage claim and other inconveniences. Therefore, plan for extra time before boarding or delays for the transfer.

• Internet at the airport. Free WiFi Internet at the airport is available at least in the arrivals area in Terminal A. In the check-in and departure waiting area, we could not get free WiFi to work, although it is stated.
• Luggage storage. Located on the first floor of Terminal B, 150 rubles a day.
• The hotel. Next to the airport, a five-minute walk, is a simple relatively inexpensive hotel. If you need to find housing in any corner of the Crimea, then here you will also be offered such an opportunity to "help" near the bus station, but it is better to refuse such an offer and pick up housing already on the spot.
• Check-in and departure. Check-in ends 40 minutes before departure; the gate closes 30 minutes before departure.
• Car rental. Car rental is located in the bus station building about 50 meters from the airport exit, directly. Also, rental counters are located in the arrivals area.
• SIM cards. Upon arrival, you can purchase local SIM cards (in 2015, only MTS). The counter for the sale of SIM cards is located on the street near the bus station.
