General information

Partenit (Partenit) - an urban-type settlement on the south coast Crimea approximately in the middle between Alushta and Yalta (Partenit on the map of Crimea). It is among the popular beach resorts of Crimea. This is a small village with a population of just over 6000 people, is part of Big Alushta.

Partenit is a fairly well-known place among tourists, and there are several decent large sanatoriums, including the departmental sanatorium "Crimea" of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. It differs from other resorts in comfort and cleanliness, beautiful views, as well as high prices. But it is worth frankly saying that this is not the most successful place for independent tourists. First of all, this is due to the inaccessibility of local beaches. There are few of them here, and only two of them are available for everyone to visit, and far from the best. You can get to the rest of the beaches, but they have the status of medical ones, and you will have to issue passes for an additional fee. Another disadvantage is the lack of an embankment for evening walks, so in the evenings you can either walk around the center of the town around the bus station, or sit in one of the cafes. What else is inconvenient, especially for older people – the resort is located on a slope, the terrain is mountainous. As a result, you will have to constantly move around the city and get to the beaches, then climbing up the hill, then going down.

There are very few attractions in Partenit: Aivazovsky Park, Ayu-Dag Mountain (Bear Mountain) and the Stone Museum, Dolphinarium. The only thing that will save fans of interesting places from deadly boredom here is excursions to different parts of the Crimea, which can be bought at local travel agencies. You can also take public transport yourself and explore Yalta, Alushta, Simferopol.

There is an infrastructure in Partenit for tourists, but everything is very modest. In the center of the village, which was formed around the final bus station, there are shops and a market, cafes and restaurants, excursions are sold, but there is no embankment, as we have already mentioned. There are only a few hotels, but immediately upon arrival at the bus station, housing is offered for rent. Of the entertainment, only the dolphinarium and Aivazovsky Park can be mentioned.

Weather and tourist seasons in Partenit

It is best to go to Partenit in the period from July to September. It is at this time that the water warms up enough for a comfortable beach holiday, and there is almost no rain. You can also visit here in May-June or stay until October, but the comfort will no longer be the same. In the remaining months there is absolutely nothing to do here – it is too cold for a beach holiday, and there is nothing else to do here.

Beaches in Partenit

Beaches are a real problem here, so if their cleanliness, accessibility and beauty are important to you, it's best to choose another resort, or settle in a hotel/sanatorium with your own beach. Access to the shore is almost everywhere limited to hotels and sanatoriums (therapeutic beaches), and you can get to them either by detours, or for a fee when issuing a pass.

• City Beach (Central)

  This is the only public beach in the city center. It is quite small (with a length of 100 meters at most), and is a 15-minute walk from the center, but you will have to go down and back to overcome a heavy climb. There is no infrastructure for entertainment here, only changing rooms and rental of sun loungers. There is a conditional embankment, but there is nothing to do on it.

  The beach itself is so-so: pebbly, packed with vacationers, often polluted with garbage from the sea. And, of course, the whole view is spoiled by concrete, fittings, a boat station and breakwaters, although this is almost everywhere on the southern coast of Crimea. Nevertheless, you can swim and sunbathe here.

  The Europa Hotel is located far from the center on the other side of the city in the northeast. To get to it on foot, you will first have to overcome a long, protracted climb, and then the same descent. Although it is located on the territory of the hotel, anyone can enter it, access is not limited.

  The beach itself is small here, conditionally sandy, with pebbles in places. It could be a good place, but everything is ruined by the concrete columns on which the hotel stands.

• "Village" beaches in the northeast

  Immediately behind the Europa Hotel begins a long chain of beaches along the embankment, separated by breakwaters. These are public beaches. There is nothing on the embankment and in the neighborhood, not even a rundown cafe. There is not even a rental of sun loungers on the beach itself. The beach itself is pebbly, the strip is very narrow. You can recommend going here if you want to avoid the crowds of vacationers on the central beach, but it is very far to go here. There is nowhere to stay here, there is no housing.

• The beach of the sanatorium "Aivazovskoe"

  This is an illegally closed beach for unauthorized access. You can get to it by paying 200 rubles for the entrance to the Aivazovsky Park. If you are not shy about scandals, then you can try to go through security "brazenly", since money is charged for visiting the park, not the beach. Sometimes it succeeds, sometimes you can be sent to the beaches in a detour, but the nerves will be quite a mess.

  The beach itself is not bad here: clean and well-groomed, there are a couple of cafes, a locker room, toilets, sun loungers, umbrellas, some entertainment. There are pebbles on the shore.

  The sanatorium "Crimea" is departmental, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, and the most problematic for independent tourists. You can get to it by passes, but they are either paid, then free, or they don't let anyone in at all. In the 2015 season, access to the beach was free, but with passes that are issued for 50 rubles (i.e., you can actually get there only for a fee). At the same time, you must first apply with a passport and a photocopy for a pass, because you can wait for it and only the next day you can get to the territory. In general, it is absolutely not a comfortable place for independent tourists. Nevertheless, the beach here is well equipped, there are canopies and sun loungers, some entertainment.

Hotels in Partenit, accommodation

There are only a few hotels here, a grip and one hand to count them. Room prices are very high. It is much cheaper to stay in a rented apartment or room, which can be rented immediately upon arrival at the final bus station from private traders who meet arriving tourists.

Settles best in the area of the final bus stop, but not in the area of "Aivazovskaya", otherwise you will walk very far and hard to the beach. In addition, the entire infrastructure, i.e. in fact the center, is concentrated right next to the terminal.

When searching for hotels in Crimea on Booking.com you will most likely receive a message - "No options found". This is a limitation booking.com because of the sanctions. How to get to Partenit

It is easy to get to Partenit by bus directly from Simferopol airport. Buses depart from the airport bus station to 05:05, 09:50, 10:30, 15:40, 20:20, an hour and a half on the way, the cost is 105 rubles. Departure from Parthenite to 08:00, 08:10, 13:20, 17:30, 18:15.

From Simferopol, buses to Partenit depart from bus station "Kurortnaya", via Alushta.

From Alushta, bus No. 109 runs from 07:00 to 20:00 every 40 minutes, 30 minutes on the way, the cost is 22 rubles.

Frequent bus service connects Partenit with Yalta: minibus No. 110 departs/arrives from the Yalta bus station from 07:00 to 19:00 every hour, 35 minutes on the way, the cost is 30 rubles.

All buses arrive and depart from the final bus station in the city center, stopping on the way at the Aivazovskaya bus stop directly opposite the entrance to the Aivazovsky Park.

Transport in Parthenite, what to move on

This is a small village, and you can walk around it all on foot. The only local bus route No. 1 connects the village with the highway (turn from the South Coast highway to the village). It runs from 07:00 to 18:00 approximately every 40 minutes. You can use this bus to get to the village on passing buses/trolleybuses between Yalta and Simferopol.

Attractions of Partenit

• Aivazovsky Park (Paradise Park)

  

  One of the main local attractions and entertainment. The park is known far beyond the village, and people come here specially for one day to see it.

  It was founded in 1964-66 on the site of former vineyards. Today, more than 13 thousand trees and about 30 thousand shrubs are represented here. The imaginative solution of the landscape garden is inspired by myths, legends and historical facts associated with this corner of the Southern Coast of Crimea. The pride of the park is the 200-year-old grove of European olives, on which the exposition related to the ancient world and the colonization of the Crimea by the ancient Greeks is based.

  If you go down to the sea, you can get to the beach of the sanatorium "Aivazovskoe". It is considered the best in the village.

  💵 Entrance fee / tickets price: adult - 600 rubles, children (7-16 years old) - 300 rubles. children under 7 years old - free of charge. A visit to the Bonsai Garden is an additional 50 rubles.

  🚶 How to get there: The entrance to the park is located next to the Aivazovskaya bus stop (park on the map), where absolutely all buses stop in and out of Partenit (from the final stop). Walking from the center can be reached in 15-20 minutes.

• Mount Ayu-dag (Bear Mountain)

  

  It is said that the mountain got its name from the fact that it looks like a bear bent down to drink water from the sea, although there are other versions of the origin of this name. This is one of the most famous mountains on the south coast. Immediately on the other side of the mountain from Parthenite begins Gurzuf and bolshaya Yalta.

  Today it is a state reserve where you can meet foxes, badgers, stone martens, hedgehogs, hares, squirrels, rodents, bats, and many species of birds. The flora includes 577 plant species, 44 of which are listed in the Red Book. Excursions with ascent to the top (height – 570 meters) are organized here, during which the guides will tell you in detail and interestingly about everything. But you can climb the mountain on your own.

  🚶 How to get there: the mountain adjoins Partenit in the south (mountain on the map). It is best to get to the top with a guide as part of an excursion, but you can do the journey yourself. The ascent time is about three hours, the ascent is quite steep and time-consuming. The beginning of the trail begins behind the sanatorium "Crimea", and it is better to go to the ascent through it (if you have a pass), or you will have to go around a lot.

• Monastery of St. mch. Cosmas and Damian

• Stone Museum

  The Stone Museum is also known as the Museum of Natural Wonders. This is a private collection of minerals from which real landscapes are created. Unfortunately, at the time of our last inspection in 2015, the museum was not working, although signs in its direction were installed in the city. Perhaps in the future the situation will change and the collection will reopen to the audience.

• House-Museum of brownies

  Hearing this name, you may think that this is a house in which there are brownies. In fact, this is just a workshop and exhibition room of sculptors, in which artists create wooden figures of brownies. And here you can not only see these unique figures, but also buy them. After all, it is believed that mythical creatures brownies protect houses, take care of them and their owners, and bring good luck. You can check it yourself if you visit this place and purchase one of the figures. In addition, an interesting tour is conducted around the house, during which they tell about a real brownie who lives in this house.

  🚶 How to get there: the house museum is located in Zaprudnoye village, Yuzhnaya str., 1 (museum on the map). You can get there from Partenit by taxi or with a transfer by bus. Buses No. 103 and No. 15 go directly to Zaprudnoye from the turn on the Yuzhnoberezhnoye Highway.

• Lake and tourist parking "Turquoise"

  This is a very beautiful lake in a mountainous area at an altitude of 610 meters above sea level. It's actually turquoise, and salty. It is fed by underground mountain springs. The landscapes around are also worthy of a visit here. It is best to go here in the form of a hike with an overnight stay at a tourist parking lot. But even if you don't have much time, it's worth coming here even for a few tens of minutes and walking around.

  🚶 How to get there: the lake is located a few kilometers north of the village of Zaprudnoye (lake on the map). It can be reached by car, motorcycle or bicycle. You can also hike to it, preferably from the village.
