Vietnam stretches from north to south for more than 1,500 kilometers. In November the picture by region changes: in the north it is already autumn-fresh, in the center it is the height of storms, and in the south dry, warm weather finally sets in.

- North (Hanoi, Sapa, Halong, Cat Ba): +18…+26 °C during the day, low humidity, rare rain. In the mountains of Sapa it can be +13 °C at night, dropping to +10 °C by the end of the month, so warm clothes are a must.
- Center (Da Nang, Hoi An, Hue, Nha Trang, Cam Ranh): +24…+28 °C, high humidity, frequent rain. In Da Nang and Hoi An it is peak typhoon season. In Nha Trang the situation also worsens compared to October.

The main plus of Nha Trang in November is very low prices. Hotels get 40–60% cheaper compared to high season. But if you are going for sea and sun, the savings are unlikely to make up for it. If you do end up here, choose a hotel with a pool and plan more time for cafes, spas, and city tours.
Cam Ranh is in the same climate zone, so the weather there is similar – the same rain and the same water temperature.
In November, Nha Trang and Cam Ranh are at peak typhoon season. If your flight is already booked, keep an eye on the forecast. If there is a serious threat, it is better to move south, to Phu Quoc or Mui Ne.
Da Nang and Hoi An in November

Air temperature +29…+31 °C, water +28 °C. The sea is warm, swimming is comfortable. There are waves, but rarely strong.
Prices in November on Phu Quoc are not yet as high as in December or January. You can find a good hotel with a pool for 2,000,000–3,000,000 dong (96.06 USD) per night. Airfare is also still cheaper than at peak season.
On the downside: in the first half of November humidity is still high, and mosquitoes are active. Do not forget repellents.
Phu Quoc is the best option for a beach holiday in November. If you are choosing between the south and the center, definitely the south.
Phan Thiet and Mui Ne in November
Mui Ne and Phan Thiet in November are a great option for those who love active holidays. The kitesurfing season is in full swing, and there is plenty of wind: average speed is about 23 km/h. For lying on the beach with a book this is not ideal, but for kiting and windsurfing it is the perfect time.
Weather in November: +29…+31 °C, water +27…+28 °C. Rain is already rare, mostly dry. The wind is strong, which creates waves. You can swim, but the sea is rough.
Prices in Mui Ne in November are still low. There are many hotels and restaurants with Russian menus. If you are going for a budget holiday and are not afraid of wind, this is a good option.
As for attractions: the Red Dunes, the White Dunes, the Fairy Stream. In November they are less crowded than in high season.
Northern Vietnam: Hanoi, Sapa, Halong
Northern Vietnam in November is a good time for excursions. The summer heat is long gone, humidity is low, and rain is rare. The temperature is +18…+26 °C, which is comfortable for walks and hikes. But mornings and evenings are already cool, especially in the mountains.
In Hanoi in November you can walk around the Old Quarter, visit temples and museums.
