Description and is it worth a visit
Su Muon Pagoda Temple is one of the most interesting temples in Phu Quoc, in our opinion a must-visit. Ego is also called and spelled the name as Su Muon, Su Mon, Hung Long Tu or Hung Long Tu. In general, Phu Quoc cannot boast of beautiful, interesting and large-scale temples, there are very few of them here, it has historically happened that way. Su Muon is definitely one of the largest temples and the highest, because it is located on a mountainside at an altitude of about 50 meters. But don't worry, you won't have to climb a lot on foot, an asphalt road leads to the temple site.
This place is famous among travelers, but little visited by mass tourists, and this is even good. The temple is still being built, and it is quite possible that it will be built for decades to come. Today, the territory houses several statues of Buddha and Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara, a stone figure of a tiger and a dragon. The main shrine of this temple is the 800-year-old koniya tree (or cup tree), under which Buddha Shakyamuni meditates. About 50 meters above the temple, a huge figure of a reclining Buddha is mounted on a pedestal, behind which there is a gilded panel depicting monks bending over it. There is also a kind of artificial cave with figures of monks and deities nearby.
When visiting the temple, do not forget about the rules of conduct – enter the main room of the temple without shoes, in clothes covering the knees and shoulders. It is impossible to make noise, shout, swear in the temple.
On the way to Su Muon Pagoda, you can stop at fish sauce factory and pepper plantation.
