White Dunes of Mui Ne (White Sand Dunes) along with the Red Dunes, are considered the most beautiful places in the province and, undoubtedly, are the most famous attraction of Mui Ne. And they are visited not only during holidays in Phan Thiet and Mui ne, but even excursions from Ho Chi Minh City go here. But although I would like to say that in our opinion their popularity and entertainment are somewhat exaggerated, and it's not the dunes themselves that are interesting here, but the tourist infrastructure and entertainment that have formed around them.

The landscape of the white dunes somewhat resembles the Sahara Desert. The entire massif of White Dunes is quite large, with a length of more than 10 kilometers. It is located quite far from the resort area, which is why some independent tourists do not even reach it, taking other formations along the way for it. It is more than 30 kilometers from the village and the resort area of Mui Ne to the real White Dunes. Well, an independent trip to the white dunes can be combined with a visit to red dunes, red canyon and lotus Lake. And yet, in these parts you can find completely deserted wild beaches, you just have to head towards the shore.
How to visit the White Dunes in Mui Ne
Most tourists do not come here on their own, but as part of group or individual tours. Interestingly, most of these tours are conducted on colorful Russian UAZ jeeps. The program of some tours includes not only a walk along the dunes and photographing, but also one of the entertainments: extreme riding in the "desert" by jeep or ATV, or riding a camel. But be careful! Some tours will only include a trip to the dunes by jeep, and you will have to pay extra for skiing already on the spot (entrance and skating prices are lower). Well, to be completely honest, it's probably not worth going that far without these entertainments.

The area of the white dunes is huge, and theoretically you can drive up to them from any side and even get into the territory for free. But the most interesting and well-equipped place to visit is two conditional camps with parking in the southern part of the sandy massif. It is here that groups of tourists are brought, and you can come here on your own. The entrance is paid, but in fact you will pay just for parking and the opportunity to pass through their territory, as well as take advantage of the same entertainment in the form of dune skiing there. Of course, there is a cafe and a toilet, there is a mini-zoo, and from here there is access to one of the lotus lakes.
The best time to visit the White and Red Dunes is the time of sunrise or sunset. It is at this time that the most beautiful photos are obtained, but the most tourists come to sunset.

💵Entrance fee / ticket price
Access to the dunes is free, at the entrance to the territory and parking where the camp is located, for a fee - 15,000 VND per person (0.57 USD, see Vietnam money, exchange rate), children - 7000 VND. If you arrive by your own transport, then additional parking is 5000 (0.19 USD. Walking along the white dunes is free, entertainment is paid extra:
- Riding an ATV/buggy – 700,000 VND / 26.61 USD
- Jeep riding – 800,000 VND / 30.42 USD
- Camel riding – 200,000 VND / 7.6 USD
The ride lasts about 20 minutes.
🚶 How to get there
The dunes are located more than 30 kilometers from the village and the resort area of Mui Ne and 50 from the center of Phan Thiet (White dunes on the map). Public transport does not go here, a taxi ride will be very expensive, so it is most convenient to get here with excursions. Such excursions are offered everywhere in hotels and travel agencies on the streets of Mui Ne, in travel agencies on the tourist street Fanm Ngu Lao in Ho Chi Minh City, or you can buy a tour online, and then you will be picked up directly from the hotel:

If you rent a motorcycle or a car in Mui Ne, it will be easy to get here on your own. The road is simple, but it's better to follow the navigator. Both Google and offline maps in apps are good at getting here Maps.me , Organic maps and others, so you can easily get there without the Internet. You need to go to one of the tourist "camps" with a paid entrance, or you can drive a little further 200 meters along the road, there is a free pass, but there is no infrastructure (free admission to white Dunes).
