Description and Is it Worth Visiting
Hon Chong Stone Garden (Nui Hon Chong) is also called Hon Chong Cape or Hon Chong Beach. It's a small cape where, either naturally or artificially, a pile of unusually shaped stones has appeared, now called the stone garden. The place is quite beautiful and offers scenic views, especially at sunset.
Tourists are usually brought here during sightseeing tours of Nha Trang for just a few minutes, and first and foremost are led to souvenir shops selling, among other things, stone paintings. Overall, it can't be said that this is an outstanding place among Nha Trang's attractions, but some tourists later return here independently to walk around this place longer, take beautiful photos, swim at a small, uncrowded beach, listen to songs and music performed on folk instruments, and end the evening with dinner at a restaurant. There's also a small park here where you can sit on benches in the shade of trees.
However, it should be said that the stone garden is unlikely to appeal to non-romantic natures who won't be captivated by beautiful sea views. If you're one of those people, you'll simply find it boring here.
Useful information for visiting:
- It's better to come here before 10:00, as large tour groups are brought here after that;
- Wear sneakers to make climbing the rocks easier and safer.
Many legends are associated with this place. One of them says that long ago, a boat with a husband and wife was washed up on these rocks during a storm. The boat, hitting the rocks, broke apart. The husband managed to climb onto a large rock and tried with all his might to pull his wife, who was still in the water, onto it. With one hand he held his wife, and with the other he clung tightly to the rock. However, the elements were so strong that his strength quickly left him and a wave swept them out to sea. Since then, on one of the large rocks, the imprints of the husband's five fingers have remained.
🕐 Opening hours
