Description and Is it Worth Visiting
Da Nang Cathedral, also known as the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church (Da Nang Cathedral, Sacred Heart of Jesus Church) is a bright architectural landmark and one of the significant Catholic churches in the city. It is interesting not only for believers but also for tourists who want to see an example of colonial architecture in the Buddhist center of Da Nang. Many know it by its unofficial name - Chicken Church (Da Nang Chicken Church), because of the rooster figure on the spire, installed there during construction in 1924.
The cathedral looks most impressive in the evening when artificial lighting is turned on, emphasizing its elegant shapes and creating atmospheric lighting. The square in front of the cathedral at this time is often filled with local youth playing football, which creates a lively and relaxed atmosphere. It is worth remembering that this is an active temple, so you can go inside during services, and at other times - see it from the outside. This is a calm and photogenic place in the center of Da Nang, which is easy to visit on the way to other attractions.
