Accommodation Features in Danang
Danang is a very popular resort, and the fastest-growing in Vietnam. Along with the infrastructure, its popularity is also growing, especially among local tourists and Chinese. As a result, accommodation prices have increased over the past few years. However, compared to other countries, including in Southeast Asia, the cost of accommodation here is still very affordable. Prices for reference:
- Hostel bed - from 150,000 VND / 5.7 USD.
- Room in an inexpensive guest house for two with air conditioning - from 300,000 VND / 11.41 USD.
- Room in a hotel for two with air conditioning and breakfast - from 400,000 VND / 15.21 USD.
- Room in a hotel equivalent to 4-5 stars - from 1,000,000 VND (38.02 USD).
Of course, prices change by season, but overall the order is approximately that.
As for the choice of options, it's huge. There are many hotels, and new ones open every year. If 15 years ago in the beach part of Danang one could see wastelands or low-rise buildings, now hotel skyscrapers have grown here on the second line (beach immediately across the road) with a large number of rooms and sea views.
There is no shortage of budget accommodation: there are hostels for solo travelers, inexpensive guest houses for couples or families. But all this is away from the beach in old low-rise districts.
By the way, in our experience, hotels in Danang are distinguished by cleanliness. Even the most inexpensive accommodation options here are clean and tidy, while in the neighboring mega-popular Hoi An, for example, for the same money you will get an old shabby room with not very clean bed linen. However, there is another peculiarity: since the resort as a whole is still more oriented towards local and Chinese tourists, the staff of many hotels speak English very poorly or not at all. So get ready to communicate with gestures or electronic translators.
It is necessary to book hotels in Danang in the high season (from January to August), and especially in the summer months, in advance. And in general, searching for accommodation on the spot in Danang is not the best idea, since there is no such tourist street or district with a concentration of hotels. They are all scattered over a huge area of the city (see below for choosing a place/district for vacation).

All Districts of Danang: Detailed Overview with Photos
If possible, pay close attention to choosing a place for a hotel and read our overview of districts and beaches in Danang with their positions on the map. Below we will not go into a detailed description of each of the official administrative districts of the city, but will tell you about the districts from the perspective of convenience for tourist accommodation.
-
My Khe District and Beach – Best Choice for Most Tourists
This is a new district of the city and the best for tourist accommodation. In fact, it is here that the tourist district of Danang has formed in recent years (district on the map). It is in this place that we recommend starting your hotel search, as then you will be not far from the center (the area with markets, bridges, the river embankment, the night market), and you will be close to tourist infrastructure, and with an excellent My Khe beach.
The length of the city's My Khe beach, embankment, and the district itself is more than 6 kilometers, although in fact the beach stretches further towards Hoi An for more than 20 kilometers.
Despite the popularity and large number of hotels, even at the height of the season, the beaches here are not overcrowded with vacationers, there is enough space for everyone. There are sun loungers and umbrellas for rent on the shore, drinks and snacks are sold, and at a fixed price for the entire beach. There are no vendors selling all sorts of useless junk, trade is prohibited here.
My Khe Beach Embankment and City Beach -
City Center – for Shopping and Nightlife, but Away from the Sea
Duong Tran Phu Street and Bach Dang Street along the Han River embankment form another conditionally tourist district, but this is already the city center away from the beach (center on the map). It is believed that this area with cafes and restaurants is perfect for evening walks, because there are many pedestrian zones and parks, just the Han River embankment with views of the evening bridges is worth it. Also, there is decent shopping here. But in our opinion, for European tourists, the center is more of an ordinary Asian shopping district with shops and markets, rather than a truly tourist place. Yes, there are several expensive restaurants and cafes, jewelry stores with currency exchange, but that's where the tourist infrastructure ends. At the same time, getting to the beach from here is very far: you'll have to take a taxi every time or "plod" 2-3 kilometers on foot. So if you need a beach holiday, we don't even advise looking towards the center.
Danang Center -
Danang Bay – Quiet and Unpopular District
In the north of the city in Danang Bay along Nguyen Tat Thanh road, a new tourist zone has been forming for many years, which has not yet received a final name (bay and beach on the map). Sometimes it is called Danang Bay or Danang Gulf, and sometimes Red Beach.
Here along the very wide Nguyen Tat Thanh road and the beach, there is a chain of inexpensive typical Asian hotels across the road. An embankment runs along the shore (it was renovated several years ago). But besides this, there is no tourist infrastructure. Moreover, the overall atmosphere here is quite dreary, there are practically no tourists.
The water here is murky compared to My Khe, there is nothing to do in the evenings, not even decent cafes to look for. The pros here are perhaps only the renovated embankment and a more natural beach with greenery and shade. So in our opinion, settling here is still premature, especially since there is such a developed and pleasant tourist district.
Danang Bay -
China Beach (Bac My An) – for a Quiet Holiday in Luxury Hotels
On the southern outskirts of Danang (beach on the map) after the city's My Khe beach begins this very long Bac My An or China beach. It does not end until Hoi An itself for another 20 kilometers, and is actually already outside the city.
The beach itself is snow-white, with the cleanest fine sand. In 2005, it even took first place among the best beaches in the world according to Forbes magazine, and probably deservedly so. The hotels here are corresponding - luxurious and expensive resorts with their own territory on the first line with direct access to the shore. But, on the other hand, it is quite quiet and dreary here, there are no entertainments, nowhere to walk in the evenings. For any kind of entertainment and shopping, you'll have to go to the city.
In our opinion, this district and beach has its place, but it is worth considering only if nothing interests you besides the beach, and you have money to pay for a room in expensive hotels and for taxi rides to the center.
Deserted China Beach -
Son Tra Peninsula – Hotels with Private Beaches and Views
This peninsula is known as "Monkey Mountain" and is an attraction (Son Tra on the map). Here there is a mountain with several observation decks with excellent views of Danang and Hai Van Pass, and other interesting places.
There are several hotels on the peninsula with their own clean secluded beaches. Unfortunately, there is no infrastructure or transport, so it's worth staying here only if you are ready to go to the city each time by taxi or rented transport, or are content with relaxation within the hotel's territory.

Lang Co – Far Beach District on the Way to Hue
The village and beach of Lang Co are located beyond the Hai Van Pass towards Hue, 30 kilometers from the center (Lang Co on the map). This is an independent resort place, but sometimes it is said to be a far district of Danang. The beach here is wonderful and very long, but there is no infrastructure, except for a few hotels and seafood restaurants. Hotels with their own territory and beach access, and not very expensive.
After visiting it, we had a strong feeling that this is a real tourist backwater, which will suit you only if you want to be far from the center of a noisy city, and besides the beach and food you need nothing for relaxation.
More about Lang Co you can read in this guide.
