What buses are there in Da Nang and are they worth using

Such 'Gazelles' drive through the streets of Da Nang

Da Nang is a huge city, and if you want to explore the city more closely and visit its attractions, getting around without transport will be very problematic. Fortunately for budget travelers, the city has a developed public transport system of buses that allows you to travel very cheaply if you get the hang of it.

The city network includes at least 14 routes that can take you to almost all city attractions, and even to some places outside the city. For example, you can get to the Marble Mountains, to the town of Hoi An, and even to Ba Na Hills. The buses here are mostly new 'GAZ' vehicles, often half-empty. They run on schedule but don't always stick to it exactly.

Practical information: schedule, prices, how to use

  • 🕐 Operating hours: varies depending on routes, but mostly from 05:00 to 21:00
  • 📅 Schedule: depending on the route, from 10 to 30 minutes
  • 💵 Fare/payment: payment is made on the bus to the conductor (less often to the driver), a ticket is issued. On most city routes from 8,000 VND (0.19 USD), to Marble Mountains 15,000 (0.57 USD), on suburban routes from 30,000 (1.14 USD). The fare for each long-distance route depends on the distance and is written for different zones (distances) on a sign near the entrance door or inside the bus. Tell the conductor where you need to go, they will tell you the price and give you a ticket.
  • 🚌 Stops: Buses stop strictly at equipped stops or at stopping points marked by a road sign.

And in Hoi An, a stop is just a sign on the road

Bus Routes in Da Nang

It's difficult for tourists to figure out stops and the route system right away, and asking locals for help is of little use since they practically don't use buses and don't know anything about them.

To make it easier, install the official DanaBus app. In it, you can plan routes, view them on the map, and find the nearest stops. It also has information on prices and schedules. Switching to English language is available.

If you can't find the DanaBus app in app stores, install it via links to stores from the official website on this page - https://www.danangbus.vn/about/danabus-mobile-app-5.html. You can also see up-to-date information and a route map on the website https://www.danangbus.vn/roadmap.html

Another option is planning routes on Google Maps. But the information there is not accurate, so double-check everything. At the end of the article below, we've gathered information about actual useful routes in Da Nang that we've personally checked.

Finally, here is a photo of the official route map as of 2025/2026:

Important information: Don't be surprised if you don't see some routes on the official website and in the app, including the popular LK-02 from Da Nang to Hoi An (formerly route No. 1). The thing is, some routes are operated by the FutbaBus company, and their routes are not part of the official city network, at least for now.
