There are quite a lot of hotels of different classes and prices on Samet Island. If you wish, you can find an inexpensive hotel here, but basically the cost of rooms here is higher than on the mainland. It is highly recommended to book a hotel here in advance, especially during the high seasons from December to February and from June to August. The island is popular at any time of the year among locals, and there is always an influx of tourists on weekends. Therefore, if you are going to go to the island from Friday to Sunday, the hotel should be booked in advance at any time of the year. All this, of course, does not mean that arriving on the island on Saturday in peak season you will have to sleep outside, but all normal hotels for a good price at this time will be busy, and you will have to overpay for accommodation of dubious quality.

Beaches of Samet island on the map

Most of the hotels on the island are located on the east coast, and especially in the northeast. It has the most developed infrastructure and the most popular beaches. If you do not seek solitude and also want to stay in an inexpensive hotel, then you need to go to this part of the island. There are very few hotels on the southwest coast, and the beaches are very secluded and not as long as in the north. Inexpensive hotels can no longer be found here.

On the west coast of the island, there are hotels only on the small and very beautiful Ao Prao beach. The rest of the west coast is rocky and not suitable for swimming.

• Koh Samet Center

  The center of the island is considered to be the small village of Na Dan, known simply as the village of Ko Samet (Ko Samet Village). Most of the island's infrastructure, ferry marinas, and the most inexpensive hotels on the island are located here. This is the most successful area for budget and unassuming tourists. If you are not purposefully looking for a secluded holiday in a hotel on a remote beach of the island, then you have a direct way here. Moreover, the ferry from the mainland will bring you here, and you can get to your hotel on foot.

  The center is also notable for the abundance of coastal cafes and restaurants. The beach is equipped with everything you need, including a shower, toilet and shops. Any tourist can rent water accessories for swimming, and then soak up the shade of tropical trees. In the dark, the rest does not end, and vacationers can sit comfortably in the cafeterias, taste Thai cuisine and listen to live music.

  The beaches directly located on the territory of the center of Samet Island are not very suitable for beach holidays, but next to the center there are two wonderful beaches: Sai Kaew and Ao Klang. You can get to them in 10 minutes on foot.

  They attract tourists with their flour-white sand. Such beaches are coral, and every tourist can appreciate the dignity of small coral grains of sand. Turquoise waters enchant with their beauty, and give an opportunity to relax tourists of Thailand in full.

  Sai Kaeo (Hat Sai Kaeo) is a beach with snow–white sand and a very developed infrastructure, which is ideal for lovers of the azure purity of the waters of the Gulf of Thailand. This is definitely the most popular beach on the island. Its length is more than 1 kilometer, and it is the largest beach of Koh Samet.

  There are many palm trees beautifully located on the territory, which will be able to protect vacationers from the bright sun. On the beach there is a shower room, a cafe, a toilet – everything you need for a comfortable stay. Here you will also find swimming circles, kayaks, sunbeds and tables. To make your vacation more exotic, you can order a Thai massage on the beach, or experience for yourself what a fish Spa is.

  Ao Wong Duean is a sandy strip, 500 meters long and curved in the form of a crescent. This is one of the most extensive beaches on the eastern shores of Samet Island. • Ao Noina Beach

  Ao Noi Na is one of the cleanest beaches in Samet. The clearest coastal water, in which there are not even stones, immediately catches the eye. The ideal depth will allow you to swim at your own pleasure. Ao Noi Na is ideal for those who do not like noisy nights. Here you will not find many discos and bars, so if you want to retire in silence, then Ao Noi Na will be the perfect choice. Also, your peace will not be disturbed by the roar of water boats and motorcycles. During the day, many tourists willingly play beach volleyball, have fun kayaking and snorkeling. In one part of the beach you can find modern and chic hotels that offer vacationers the highest service. • Ao Phrao Beach

  Ao Prao is one of the most prestigious beaches on the island. It is simply created for the most sophisticated vacationers. It is worth noting that Ao Prao is seriously geographically isolated, because it is separated by rocky cliffs from the rest of the island.

  Ao Prao is a snow-white strip of sand, which is strewn with tropical gardens with manicured lawns. A separate advantage is that you will not find a single speck on the entire beach. Ao Prao is created for a respectable holiday. You can admire the wonderful sunsets from the observation deck, or directly from the shore of Ao Prao. Tourists willingly rent catamarans and sailing yachts, rent kayaks or windsurfing. The beach is surrounded by coral reefs on both sides, so Ao Prao will be a treasure trove for diving enthusiasts.
