Description and is it worth a visit
Temple Klang Wiang (Wat Klang Wiang) is one of the oldest temples in Chiang Rai, it is more than 560 years old. Located in the heart of Chiang Rai and stands out with an abundance of red and wood in the interior. It is made in classical Thai architecture in the style of the kingdom of Lanna.
The temple was built in 1432. It was originally called Wat Cahantalok in honor of the red sandalwood tree of Chan Ding, growing on the temple grounds. Apparently, that's why the red color prevails. Chan Ding according to ancient beliefs is a tree that brings good luck. When the city of Chiang Rai was built in 1874, it turned out that Cahantalok was located in the very center of the city, and it was renamed Wat Klang Wiang.
As a result, after visiting this temple, I would like to say that although it is not one of the unusual and especially significant ones that you should definitely visit in Chiang Rai, but if you are walking around the city center, be sure to look here.
