Hin Dat Radon Hot Springs in Kanchanaburi

Hin Dat Hot Spring (also Hindad Hot Spring) – hot radon springs in the open air. It is believed that the water in them has a therapeutic effect, but staying in them is limited, because if you swim longer, you can cause harm: people with heart disease are not recommended to swim for more than 30 minutes.

There are two pools with different temperatures, one pool for children with slightly warm water, as well as a separate pool for monks. Nearby there is a stream where you can swim and wash off the radioactive radon water. There is also a changing room, shower and toilet. Things can be put in a storage room for 30 baht.

This place is very popular with tourists, large excursion groups from Pattaya are brought here during tours to the River Kwai, so do not be surprised that there may be a lot of people here, mostly Russian-speaking. And a lot of locals come to the springs on weekends. If you are traveling on your own, and you don't like such a large company, you can wait 20 minutes, since groups don't stay here any longer. There are also few people here in the morning.

🚶 How to get there

The hot springs are located 125 kilometers from the city of Kanchanaburi (sources on the map). It is best to get there by rented transport, but you can also get there by bus. From the Kanchanaburi bus station, local minibuses depart every 30 minutes to Thong Pha Phum, costing from 80 baht, 3 hours on the way. Before reaching 20 kilometers to Thong Pha Phum there will be a turn to the springs, from where you can walk only 500 meters. Tell the driver to drop you off near the sources, or even better, show the name of the sources on a piece of paper, since they understand almost nothing in English and especially Russian. Even if you pass the turn, drive to Thong Pha Phum, and from there to the springs take a sonthaew minibus for 40 baht.
