Description and is it worth a visit
Inthakin Sadu Muang Temple (Wat Inthakhin Saduemuang, also spelled Wat Inthakhin Sadie Muang) is a not particularly well–known and little-visited temple by tourists in the heart of Chiang Mai's old town near the Three Kings Square. Its name translates roughly as "The Temple of the City Center" or "The Temple of the navel of the City", because if you look at the map, it really is located almost in the geographical center of the old city of Chiang Mai, formed by the city walls. And for this reason, up to the XIX century, a city shrine or a temple pillar City Pillar Shrine was installed here, in which, according to legend, the patron spirit of the city lives.
Inthakin Sadu Muang was supposedly founded in the XIV century, but this is not certain. Today it is a modern functioning temple, of which nothing remains of the historical original. However, it stands out with an ornate gilded viharn (this is the main building of the temple) made of wood in the style of the kingdom of Lanna.
