Description and is it worth a visit
Democracy Monument is a monument erected in 1939 in honor of the establishment of the constitutional monarchy by the King of Thailand in 1932. It is located on the traffic ring in the center of Bangkok, and is a zero kilometer, i.e. it counts the length of the tracks from the capital throughout the country. From a tourist point of view as a tourist attraction, this monument is not very interesting, it can literally be glimpsed from the side. But it is an important transport point and landmark. The monument is within walking distance from Khao San Tourist Area, The Grand Royal Palace, The National Museum and other important attractions in the historical part of the city. Very often it is used as a reference point in order to get to this part of the city and to the Khaosan district by taxi or bus, if there is a problem with the language barrier. Ie, if you can not explain to the driver what you need to go to this area, say "Democracy Monument", then you will almost certainly understand.
