Mount Popov located on the outskirts of shiryaevo village and is included in one of the tourist routes when visiting Samara Luka National Park. As an independent attraction, it does not represent anything special, but it is worth visiting during a visit to the village along with other attractions in the vicinity.
Approximately in the middle of the way to its top there is an observation deck on the village and the Volga with a gazebo, benches and a monument to the miners of the tunnels, as well as a memorial sign to the state of Volga Bulgaria that once existed in these places. The ascent to the observation deck is very simple, takes no more than 10 minutes along a gentle path. You can climb to the very top of the mountain, at a height of 200 meters, but there is no convenient path, you will have to climb a steep slope. On the northern slope of the mountain are now closed to the public tunnels with bats.

💵 Entrance fee / ticket price
visiting the mountain is paid, 50 rubles, preschoolers-free of charge. The ticket is purchased at the office/Information Center of the National Park at the entrance to the village of Shiryaevo. It is easy to find the office, it is located along the main road, everywhere there are signs, the address is Zavodskaya STR., 4 (Information Center on the map. This ticket also entitles you to visit Shiryaevsky tunnels and Gora Verblud (camel mountains).
🚶 How to get there
the mountain is one kilometer from the National Park Information Center (Mount Popova on the map. You can get there on foot or by car on a good primer, there are signs everywhere.
