Beaches in Sudak

In Sudak beaches there are both within the city along the embankment stretching for almost two kilometers, and outside it in the village of Novy Svet, kapsel Bay, Cape Meganom, etc. Most of them are sandy, there are mixed Sand-Pebbles. Sudak is the only place in Crimea with quartz sand on the shore. It is believed that this sand has healing properties, and local sanatoriums actively use this, positioning rest on their beaches as a treatment. Whether this is true is difficult to say, but the fact that thanks to quartz sand, local beaches do not have a very beautiful grayish hue is unequivocal.

  The city beaches of Sudak stretch almost continuously along the entire coastline of the city and the promenade, have a total length of 2 kilometers. This is the main place of rest for most tourists in the city, despite all its shortcomings. Unfortunately, the view of the City Beach Sudak can please the eye of only the most unassuming tourist, there are too many minuses in it. If you prefer clean and beautiful beaches, then staying in Sudak you better get out to much more pleasant beaches of the Noviy Svet or go to kapsel Bay.

  Almost the entire length of the City Beach is Sandy, mixed with pebbles. The sand is mostly gray and dark, not very pretty. The ratio of sand and pebbles is different everywhere, so that lovers of both will be able to choose a place to their liking. The entrance to the water is gentle, the depth is normal, but not "childish".

  Despite the conditional division of the City Beach into many small ones, up to the beaches of various cafes, adopted on many sites on the internet, today the city beach as a whole is one. It is still divided into sections of various administrative affiliation to certain sanatoriums by rusty broken fences and concrete breakwaters, but, despite this, you can safely move between them through gaps in the fences, along the stairs through the breakwaters, or simply walking along the embankment. Access is not restricted, no fee is charged.

  Due to their assignment to different institutions, the quality and conditions on them are very different, so much so that some are simply unpleasant to go to because of dirt, overcrowding, and even urban drains. Some are crowded to capacity with guests of sanatoriums, which provide free sun beds upon presentation of a sanatorium book; for other people there are not many, full service is provided, but you will have to pay for a chaise longue.

  Throughout the city beach, we have identified three more or less satisfactory areas where you can sunbathe and swim: these are Arza cafe, Priboy beach, and the beach near the water park. Everything in between, in our opinion, is not quite suitable for a beach holiday.

  • Arza Beach

    

    This plot is named after Arza's Cafe (Arzu on the map). This is one of the cleanest and most pleasant places to relax, while there are not as many people here as in the center. The beach is Sandy and pebbly, the sand is large, gray. For a fee, good sun beds and umbrellas are offered, cafe services, wooden paths are laid, everything is clean. You can relax on your mattress or towel. The abundance of entertainment this place will not please, but this is different from the rest of the city beach: clean, cozy and relatively quiet.

    

    

  • Beach "Surf" or "Brigantine" or "Central"

    

    This is the very center of the City Beach (Central on the map), and it is here that the Promenade Street Cypress alley abuts. The situation here is appropriate: a noisy cheerful embankment, developed infrastructure, a lot of people, Entertainment. Not a bad place if you want to be in the middle of the fun. There is a rental of sun loungers, umbrellas, catamarans, changing cabins. There is sand on the shore, small pebbles at the very edge of the water.

    

    

    

    

  • Beaches near the water park

    

    If you move along the embankment and beach towards the water park and Mount Alchak-Kaya, the situation becomes quieter, the beaches are more spacious, wider and even cleaner (beaches near the water park on the map). Infrastructure (cafes, sun beds, umbrellas on the beach) is still there, but in smaller quantities. But the beaches in this area are much cleaner and more pleasant than in the center. Previously, the coast here was divided into the Beach "Malibu", "collective farm" and others, but now it is one continuous beach without any restrictions and paid entrances.

    What distinguishes this place from the center is the large amount of sand. Almost the entire coast here is Sandy, only a narrow strip of Jackdaw is at the very edge of the water. The sand here is large and not as "scary" as in the center. The slope of the bottom is average, at a distance of 4-5 meters from the shore of the water to the waist.

    At the very foot of Cape Alchak-Kaya there is a very sparsely populated wild beach. This is the only place where you can drive directly to the beach by car, but for this you have to Ford a small stream (R. Suuk-Su).

    

    

  • Other city beaches of Sudak

    In addition to the above sites, there are still many places within the city limits where you can swim and sunbathe. But, unfortunately, their advantage, in our opinion, is only the relative sparseness and the opportunity to use the beach equipment for free if you are a guest of a sanatorium with its own beach.   The surroundings of Sudak are considered much more attractive for a beach holiday than the city line. The beaches here are less crowded and much more beautiful.

  The most popular of the country are the beaches of the village of Novy Svet. Here in the village there is a city embankment with good sandy beaches, and near the village there are several wild shores, including the famous Tsar's Beach, which is considered one of the most beautiful in the Crimea.   A little further beyond the Noviy Svet is another wonderful and sparsely populated beach Veselovskaya (Kutlakskaya) Bay in the village of Veseloe. But the way there does not pass through Novy Svet, but from the Sudak bus station by bus to bypass the mountains. From the Noviy Svet can only be reached on foot via the Trail on Mount Karaul-Oba. Veselovsky beach stretches for 2 kilometers, Sandy with small pebbles. The water is clean, the entrance to the sea is convenient, without stones. There are no strong waves, as the Bay is closed on both sides by capes. You can relax with small children. The infrastructure is decent, there are canopies, umbrellas, toilets, changing rooms, a rescue post and a volleyball court. Outside the beach there is a special place for a tent city. There are cafes and shops.

  If you go east of Sudak, you can get into the kapsel Valley, it is also a Bay. This is a seven-kilometer beach, mostly stone and wild, but there are some really wonderful beaches, including a children's "Frog House". These places are rich and interesting in the underwater world, so they often like to dive with scuba diving, you can swim with a mask.   If you drive even further, near Cape Meganom you can find another car camp and a great beach with clean water. Further along the shores of the Cape there are several more completely wild places, which in the high season are inhabited by lovers of rest with tents.
