Overview of Evpatoria beaches
All the beaches in Evpatoria are sandy, with golden fine sand. And this is not a shell rock, as, for example, on the Azov coast, but real yellow sand. The depth here is shallow, the bottom goes under water very slowly, and even the smallest children can safely move away from the shore for tens of meters. In the city, lifeguards are on duty at all official beaches, which makes the beaches in Evpatoria one of the best and safest in all of Crimea for relaxing even with the smallest children.
The beach strip here is very long, and only within the city limits it stretches for four kilometers. True, of all this length in the center, only half is accessible to ordinary tourists, and the other half is occupied by medical sanatoriums and children's camps, where access is limited. The remaining two kilometers at the peak of the season are not enough, and therefore vacationers here are sitting almost on each other's heads. If such close proximity does not suit you, then you can easily get by city bus, tram or even on foot to the outskirts of the city, where it is much freer on the coast. And if you want to be completely on deserted beaches, then you can get from the bus station of Evpatoria to its suburbs or to neighboring villages.
All beaches in Evpatoria are well equipped, everything is available for a comfortable stay: rental of sun loungers and parasols, luxury pavilions, showers, toilets, fast food and drinks are sold. In separate areas, traditional beach and water activities are organized, lifeguards work.
Prices on the beaches in Evpatoria:

However, not everything on the Yevpatoriya beaches is so perfect, and there are negative points that cannot be ignored. So, with regard to the quality and cleanliness of the beaches, this is a controversial issue, especially at the beginning or end of the tourist season. In general, the beaches in Evpatoria are being cleaned, but as soon as the weather deteriorates or the direction of the wind changes, heaps of algae are thrown ashore, which immediately begin to rot under the scorching sun and stink very strongly. At the height of the season, they are promptly cleaned, but at the beginning or at the end of the tourist season, they are in no hurry with cleaning or are limited to only the most popular areas in the center.
Another problem is the rocky bottom. Although sand is everywhere here, over time, many small stones are washed to the shore by waves. They also try to clean the bottom here, but at the beginning of the season it happens that you just can't go into the water because of the abundance of sharp stones hiding under the water.
Are there paid or closed beaches in Yevpatoriya?
Although all the beaches in Yevpatoriya are free, nevertheless there are several sections of the coast where access is legally limited. These are children's and medical beaches, related to sanatoriums and having the appropriate status. We have marked all such beaches and unsuitable for swimming areas of the coast on our interactive map.
What is very convenient, in Evpatoria all the beaches are marked with "branded" municipal signs with information about the status. If such a sign indicates that it is a "Public Beach" or "Public Beach", then you can freely go ashore and relax despite the presence of security, the requirement to have a pass or sanatorium book, or the requirement to pay entry. If the sign says "Children's" or "Cure" beach, you can legally be denied access there.
Unfortunately, the administration of some public beaches run by sanatoriums or hotels takes advantage of tourists' ignorance of the laws, and installs their own signs at the entrances "Sanatorium beach - entrance only with passes". This is done in order to provide comfort for its guests. In fact, if the official municipal sign indicates that it is a public or public beach, you can safely walk ashore and ignore the security requirements to present a pass. The only restriction when you are on such a beach for you will be that, unlike holders of passes or sanatorium books, you cannot use equipment (chaise lounges, umbrellas, etc.) and amenities (toilet, shower, luggage storage) for free.
All beaches of Evpatoria according to the list
Given the large length of the coast in Yevpatoria and a considerable number of beaches, you will probably have a question which beach is the best and next to which beach (in which area) it is better to choose a hotel. We present to your attention a map of the beaches of Evpatoria with a description and a photo of each of them:
-
Central Beach
In the center of Yevpatoriya there is a developed Gorky embankment with entertainment, cafes, restaurants, souvenir shops, and here there is a chain of city beaches with a total length of almost one and a half kilometers (Central Beach on the map). Almost all tourist life takes place here, so the closer to the Gorky embankment you choose a place to stay, the closer to the center of fun and entertainment you will find yourself on vacation.
The central beaches are the most developed in the city, but during the high season they are very crowded. You can hide from the sun under stationary free canopies, but the place under them is in short supply. There are few changing rooms, showers and toilets on the beaches in the center.
The main entrance to the central city beach is located along Frunze Street. This is the most developed and most populous area. It is really cozy and comfortable here, very clean sand (constantly cleaned), shallow depth (just perfect even for the smallest children), a huge amount of entertainment both on the beach itself and on the promenade. But there is one problem: in order to sunbathe and swim, you will have to come and take a seat in the morning.
Central Beach -
Tereshkova embankment
The embankment of Valentina Tereshkova stretches along the entire old city of Evpatoria (Embankment of Tereshkova on the map). This entire area is concrete and completely unsuitable for comfortable swimming, although local children even in these places manage to swim for pleasure, and adults sunbathe. Swimming is prohibited here, as the inscriptions warn about.
Please note that if you settle in this area, you will have to travel quite far to get to the "swimmable" beach and to the entertainment center.
In 2021-2022, a large-scale reconstruction is being carried out on Tereshkova Embankment, after which the beach area should also improve. Looking forward to opening!
Tereshkova embankment -
New Beach
On the outskirts of Evpatoria along Simferopolskaya Street there is a very long chain of excellent sandy beaches, which are called the "New" beach (New beach on the map). For several kilometers there are no fences and buildings between the sites, and for those who like to walk along the coast along the sand, this is perhaps the best place in Evpatoria. Some areas are covered with pebbles.
Conventionally, the coast here is divided into separate beaches with the names "Number One", "Knight's", "Sunny", etc., but as we have already written, there are no fences or separators. For a fee, sun loungers, toilets, showers, changing cabins are offered. There are entertainment and children's inflatable slides, drinks, ice cream, food are offered. On one of the beaches there is even a progressive disco. Perhaps the only drawback in this place is the need to get here by transport from the center. You can get there by bus number 6, or to the "post / tram ring" stops by buses number 1, 17 and tram number 1, and then on foot. The fare is 25 rubles.
Sometimes beaches look like this -
Solaris
This is an urban public beach, the first after the Tereshkova embankment ("Solaris" on the map). Also known as "Horse Beach" because once upon a time there were barracks here. Today, of course, there are no barracks, but there is a well-equipped, wide, sandy strip. The length is small, only 120 meters, but everything you need for a comfortable beach holiday is available. Here you can rent a deck chair for 100 rubles, there are changing cabins, a dining room and a bar, ice cream is sold, there is a playground, and even slot machines work. There is a canopy accessible to everyone, in the shade of which you can lie on your towel.
And everything would be fine in this beach, if not for its crowds. You can relax more or less comfortably here only at the very beginning or end of the season, but in the midst of it, there is simply nowhere for an apple to fall.
Solaris in Evpatoria -
Oasis
This beach is only 100 meters long and almost as wide. Located after Solaris (Oasis on the map). Nearby there is a cafe "Corsair", it is offered to rent sun loungers, rent water bicycles (catamarans), there is a toilet, changing cabins, showers. There is a canopy, a playground with swings, a slide and trampolines. The beach is very clean thanks to the staff of the Oasis Hotel, and is rightfully considered one of the most comfortable and cozy. There are a lot of people here during the high season.
Oasis Vacation -
Trekhgorka
This is a small beach of the Trekhgorka boarding house, which, however, is not located next to the beach, but a kilometer from here at the end of the Tereshkova embankment (Trekhgorka beach on the map). It is very short, only 60 meters, and almost undeveloped. Entrance to it is not free and is not limited.

Cote d'Azur, Almazny, Rodnichok and other beaches in the west
There are several beaches on the western outskirts of the city towards the village of Zaozernoe and near Lake Moynaksky, the most famous of which is considered to be the Cote d'Azur ("Cote d'Azur" on the map). Therefore, it is sometimes customary to call all the beaches in this part of the "Côte d'Azur", although each of them has its own names.
This is one of the best beach areas in Evpatoria in terms of service and cleanliness, and the best place for youth recreation, because there are cafes and beach bars, discos, and active forms of entertainment. The swimming area is protected by an underwater net from jellyfish, so even during their invasion, you can swim here without any discomfort. In addition to the usual service and entertainment, it also offers bungalow rentals and car camping. There is no better place for lovers of road trips in Evpatoria.
The best way to get here is by your own transport, for which there is paid parking (100 USD) and enough space for free parking a little aside. But you can easily take buses No. 6, 6A or 10 (travel 25 USD) to the final stop "Plyazh", and from there walk 5-10 minutes.
Entrance to all the beaches here is free, but conditionally paid. The administration charges a symbolic amount for the use of services: toilet, shower, cleaning. Additionally, if desired, the rental of a sun lounger, etc. is paid.
- Cleaning fee + shower + toilet + WiFi - 40 rubles
- Rent a sun lounger - from 200 rubles
- Rent a bungalow - from 1200 rubles
- Accommodation in car camping - 300 rubles / person (up to 12 years old free of charge)
The Côte d'Azur beach even has its own website where you can find prices and book a car camping spot - lazurevp .ru
Lazurnoe Coast in Evpatoria -
Nudist beach
If you move further from the city center along the "New Beach", then after about a kilometer or two you get to a nudist beach (Nudist beach on the map). Especially this place is not marked in any way and is formed spontaneously in the high season. You can stay here dressed and undressed, but it is not recommended with children.
-
Wild beaches
When approaching Yevptaoriya from the side of Saki stretches for almost five kilometers a deserted strip of wild sandy beaches (Wild beach on the map). During the season, a lot of spontaneous car campings and just tent camps are formed here. There are no amenities and infrastructure here, just as there is not a single tree on the shore. Therefore, going here on vacation, be sure to take care of a portable awning and an umbrella to protect from the sun, otherwise you will burn out in a matter of hours. You can get here by car or suburban buses to Saki.
-
Closed medical, departmental and children's beaches
A whole chain of beaches in the city center along Mayakovskaya Street (marked in red on our map) are closed to the public. These are medical and children's beaches, where only guests of sanatoriums or children's camps can be. Access to them is blocked by fences right along the beach and along the coast, but sometimes you can get to them through the gate or by going knee-deep in water. There are only two small public beaches 30-40 meters wide opposite Polupanov (Solnyshko Beach) and Ivan Franko streets.
Beaches near Evpatoria
If the beaches directly in Evpatoria seem too crowded to you, then you can always go to the surroundings or nearby resort villages, in which there are many kilometers and sparsely populated sandy beaches. Here are the most popular places near the city, which can be reached by public transport or car:
-
Zaozernoe village
The small, quiet village of Zaozernoye is located very close to Evpatoria, only 6 kilometers away, and can be reached by city bus number 8 (119) from the Evpatoria bus station (Zaozernoe Beach on the map). The beaches here are very long, completely sandy, though not always very clean. A lot of beaches here are curative and for children with appropriate restrictions, but there are no problems getting to them along the coast. Well, if you want, you can go a little further and find completely deserted places. More about Zaozernoe here.

Milochnoye and Vitino villages
Slightly further from Zaozerny there are two villages Molochnoye and Vitino (Molochnoye Beach on the map and Vitino Beach on the map). Along them, not for kilometers, but for tens of kilometers, deserted wild sandy beaches stretch. Almost the entire coast to the village of Shtormovoe is 30 kilometers of sand, so there is enough space for everyone. There is only one problem - to get to these beaches, since city buses do not go here. The best way to get there is by private transport or taxi. You can read our separate guides about rest in Molochnoe and rest in Vitino.

Shtormovoe Village
The village, or rather the village of Shtormovoe, is located 30 kilometers from Evpatoria (Stormovoy Beach on the map). There is a long sandy beach, whichstands out in places with fine and almost white sand, very pleasant to the touch. It stretches for many tens of kilometers on both sides of the village. The depth in the sea is small, you can go almost 100 meters from the coast, and the water is very clear in good weather. What is cool here is that, despite the low population, it is a well-developed and equipped beach with sun loungers and luxurious VIP gazebos for relaxing on the shore. You can get here by buses from the city bus station, which run several times a day. Read more about rest in Shtormovoe here.
Beach in Storm -
Popovka
The resort village and beach of Popovka is located 30 kilometers from Evpatoria (Popovka and Mirny on the map of Crimea). Until 2013, the world-famous Kazantip electronic music festival was held on the beach in Popovka, and today people come here for a relaxing holiday on excellent sandy beaches that stretch for many kilometers. There is almost no infrastructure and amenities on the beach, little entertainment. But the real decoration of this coast is the bizarre art objects left on the beach since the Kazantip electronic music festival was held here. Read more about the rest in Popovka here.
