General information

Shtormovoe (Shtormovoe) is a village on the western coast of Crimea, 30 kilometers from Yevpatoria (Shtormovoe on the map (), a popular beach resort. The permanent population is a little more than 1000 people, but in the holiday season it increases several times due to vacationers. The village was founded in 1901 and received the original name Voznesenovka. In 1934 it was renamed Frunzevka, and only in 1977 to Shtormovoe.

In Shtormovoe it is worth going for a quiet beach holiday if you prefer spacious sandy beaches and a calm, almost rustic environment. The beach in Shtormovoe stretches for many tens of kilometers on both sides of the village, in the north passing into the village of Popovka and ending at the belyaus spit, and in the south it is not interrupted for almost 30 kilometers to Yevpatoria. The depth in the sea is small, you can go almost 100 meters from the shore, and the water in good weather is very clear.

In addition to the sea beach, there is a sandy beach with a length of about 700 meters on the shore of the salty oibur Lake. The depth of the lake is only 1 meter, and it warms up perfectly in mid-May. The best beach for small children just can not be found. There is no pedestrian promenade along the beach, but on the shore there are sun loungers and awnings, traditional beach entertainment, cafes and restaurants.

Near the storm there are two lakes with therapeutic mud, and you can use them completely free of charge.

Off the coast of the resort there are good conditions for diving or snorkeling. The depths here are small, even at a distance of two kilometers from the shore no deeper than 20 meters, but the water is very clear, visibility is good. Here, at a depth of 10-15 meters, the remains of the ancient settlement of Syr were discovered, at least according to amateur divers. And three kilometers from the shore under the water is the German ship Volga Don, sunk by Soviet troops in 1944.

Just do not think that Shtormovoe is a village without any infrastructure. In fact, everything you need for an unassuming beach holiday is here. Just peace and quiet in the village is preserved due to seclusion and remoteness from the main road leading to Yevpatoria.

Of the minuses of the storm, almost complete absence of vegetation can be distinguished, as around most resorts in the Western steppe part of the Crimea. The cleanliness of the beach and water depends on the weather, and although most of the time it is clean, it happens that due to the wind and storms, algae washes ashore, which lie on the sand for a long time, because no one removes them. Great inconvenience is caused by constantly blowing wind, sometimes very strong. Sometimes there is an influx of very large jellyfish, but they are not poisonous.

Infrastructure in Shtormovoe

The infrastructure for recreation in Shtormovoe is well developed, especially considering that this is just a village. Everything here is focused on tourism and tourists, and most of the housing is built for delivery to vacationers.

In front of the beach on Lenin Street there is a whole market of stalls with souvenirs and goods for recreation. In addition, there are two markets in the village: large and small. A large market is located on Embankment Street, 8, and there are good prices for fresh fruit, meat, fast food for vacationers (boiled corn, Thai ice cream, cocktails, shawarma, etc.), underground home alcohol, there are souvenirs and goods for recreation. There is also a "small market" in the center next to the bus station, where you can also buy everything you need for recreation, just on a smaller scale and at higher prices. There is no supermarket in Shtormovoe, and therefore if you are used to buying a lot of goods at once at low prices, then it makes sense to go to Yevpatoria, where prices are lower. You can even go there by bus, and not far from the bus station you can visit the huge supermarket "fresh" and the collective farm market. But it is better, of course, to go by car to be able to bring all the purchases.

Most accommodation facilities in the resort have a shared kitchen where you can cook from products purchased at the market or in Yevpatoria. If you do not want to mess with this, then you can eat in one of the cafes that work during the day in the mode of budget canteens. The cafe-canteens "we eat like at home", "Paprika", "on Limannaya-5" are popular among tourists, but these are not the only places of catering, and after a little walk around the village you will surely find something suitable for yourself.

There is no ATM in Shtormovoe, and therefore if you run out of cash, you can take a bus to Yevpatoria or the village of Mirny. By the way, if you wish, you can even walk to Mirny, walking along the beach past the Z attraction.Go to the village of Popovka, and from there to the center of Mirny.

In Shtormovoe you can find a dozen hotels, guest houses, boarding houses, recreation centers. Prices are reasonable, and the class of accommodation is mainly economy. But still, most tourists stay in the private sector, because it is profitable and convenient: there is a common or individual kitchen, no one bothers and, as a rule, there is parking.

There are a lot of holiday homes for rent in Shtormovoe, so there will be no problems finding a place to stay. Everything is offered: from economy to apartments, from a room in a private house to an apartment in a high-rise building. You can find and rent housing upon arrival in the village just walking along the street, but be sure to check all the living conditions offered by the owners before settling in, as air conditioning, TV, or even a shower can easily be non-working.

As for the choice of accommodation, prices as you move away from the coast fall sharply, and you can settle even from 300 rubles per person, of course, with a minimum of amenities, for example, with a toilet on the street. The apartment can be rented even for 1000 rubles for two. And another reason in favor of staying a little away from the beach: at the height of the season there are several noisy bars and clubs working late, so there is not the best place for a quiet holiday.

Weather and tourist seasons in Shtormovoe

As in mostresorts in Crimea, the tourist season in Shtormovoe falls in the summer. Attractions and entertainment in Shtormovoe

Entertainment in Shtormovoe is not very much. These are mainly children's and beach entertainment. On the beaches of Storm, traditional beach entertainment is offered: catamaran rental, water skiing, banana, tablet, boat trips, etc.for children there are inflatable slides. The resort is not rich in sights. In fact, there is only one attraction – the Museum "marine curiosities". Excursions to other places of the Crimea can be easily purchased from sellers on the street, and by bus or taxi you can go yourself to get acquainted with sights in Yevpatoria. On foot along the shore you can walk to the village of Popovka, where as a tourist attraction you can see the structures remaining at the venue of the Electronic Music Festival "Kazantip".
