Uch-Dere or Uchdere - a beach resort and microdistrict in the Lazarevsky District of Sochi, 15 kilometers from the city center (Uch-Dere on the map. Very close to UD-Dere is another popular loo resort, and on the other side another resort Dagomys settlement.

Officially, Uch-Dere is an independent microdistrict, consists of the villages of Nizhne, Kulturnoye and Verkhne Uch-Dere, and has nothing to do with the village of loo. But in practice, the border between Loo and Uchdere points is erased, so often Uch-Dere is perceived by tourists as one of the beaches of loo. Indeed, if you look at some maps, the beach of loo, called "Aqualoo" or "mountain air", is already within the boundaries of the village of Nizhny Uch-Dere. Even more confusing is the fact that the Uch-Dere railway station is not located within the boundaries of the microdistrict. In order to avoid discrepancies, in this guide we talk about rest in the tourist area on the coast near the stations "mountain air" (the village of Nizhny Uch-Dere) and "Uch-Dere".

Rest in Uch-Dere

Uch-Dere is a classic beach resort in Greater Sochi with long beaches, satisfactorily developed urban and tourist infrastructure, tourist entertainment. If we talk about the tourist center near the station "mountain air" (Nizhny Uch-Dere), then there is everything you need for a simple beach holiday: shops and markets, selling excursions, many options for accommodation, there is a water park "Aqualoo" and a dolphinarium.

The rest here will appeal to young people, families with children and the older generation, but, of course, there are some peculiarities: not everyone will like only pebble beaches and great depth; there are no night clubs with progressive and modern music; inconvenience during the rest is caused by the railway and Road between the tourist area and the beach.

The beaches in UD-Dere are exceptionally pebbly, but they compare favorably with the narrow and almost washed away beaches in neighboring loo, and that is why vacationers in the center of Loo rush here during the day to rest. The coast here stretches continuously for almost 4 kilometers without breakwaters, fences and other obstacles, there are a lot of places to rest on it. There is a conditional division of the coast into areas under the jurisdiction of sanatoriums, but they are all publicly accessible, you can rest anywhere.

Infrastructure in Uch-Dere

Officially, Uch-Dere consists of three villages, but the main tourist zone was formed in the area of the railway station "mountain air". It is here that hotels, private housing, shops and markets, the promenade and the main exit to the beach are concentrated.

This tourist center is very compact, and there are three chain supermarkets "Pyaterochka" and "Magnet", pharmacies, clothing and tourist market. Excursions and tourist services are offered everywhere by distributors, but most of them are on the embankment and on the way to the beach.

There are no bank branches here, but money can be withdrawn at one of the ATMs of SBER in supermarkets, near the Aqualoo water park and on the territory of the White Nights boarding house. You can pay with a bank card in supermarkets and some hotels, and in markets and for tourist services accept cash and online transfers.

Hotels and accommodation in Uch-Dere, where to stay

This is a relatively inexpensive Sochi resort, if you compare it with the center of Sochi or Adler, for example. Most of the room stock in Uch-Dere is represented by private housing and mini-hotels, but there are also several boarding houses and sanatoriums with their own territory. Here, even in peak season, it is quite possible to find a room for two from 1000 rubles. However, do not expect good quality at this price. Most budget options offer a small room with a fan, shared bathroom, kitchen and outdoor dining area. If you want a comfortable room with its own bathroom and air conditioning, you will have to pay almost twice as much.

Be careful when choosing the location of housing or hotel, check it on the map and reviews. If you want to live in the center of events, close to shops, markets and transport, it is best to settle in walking distance from the center, which is formed around the station "mountain air". If you are more interested in a quiet rest and silence, then you may well consider the option of sanatoriums and boarding houses away from the center.

How to get to Uch-Dere

You can get to the resort by plane through Sochi airport, it is 45 kilometers away and about an hour away. From the airport directly to the place of rest you can get by taxi, electric trains, Sochi city buses or rented transport.

By train at the height of the summer season, you can get from almost any region and city of the Russian Federation. True, long-distance trains do not stop directly in Uch-Dere, so you have to go to neighboring stations in Loo or the center of Sochi.

To get from the airport, from neighboring resorts on the coast and from the cities of the Krasnodar Territory, it is best to use trains, and, in extreme cases, buses.

Many tourists come to rest in Sochi and Uch-Dere in particular by private cars. It is really convenient and relatively inexpensive, but definitely we will not recommend a trip on a personal car, because there are too many difficulties associated with this.

Attractions and entertainment in Uch-Dere

In Uch-Dere there are only two attractions: "tea houses" and plantations, and the Museum of the history of Krasnodar tea and retro cars. But you can see several interesting places in the vicinity on your own or with excursions. Basically, the sights in the vicinity of Uch-Dere are natural beauties - gorges, waterfalls, hiking trails - and there is one historical landmark – the Luo temple, which can be reached even on foot.

If there are few interesting places nearby, you can buy inexpensive group excursions by bus to all corners of Sochi and the Krasnodar Territory, and even to neighboring Abkhazia.
