Hamyshki in Adygea

General information

Hamyshky is a village in the Republic of Adygea, 70 kilometers from Maikop and 30 kilometers from Kamennomostsky at an altitude of 570 meters above sea level (on the map). This is one of the four settlements popular with tourists as a place to stop and rest during a trip to Adygea, and the quietest and most peaceful of them. The village is quite small, its permanent population is slightly more than 700 people, but at the same time there is all the necessary minimum infrastructure for a short tourist stay.

The village is surrounded by picturesque mountain ranges, located on the banks of the Belaya River, and looks very clean and well-groomed. Due to the relief, the climate in Khamyshki is the most temperate in all of Adygea, without sudden changes in temperature and precipitation. In the village itself and nearby there are no significant attractions, the infrastructure is developed as in any small village, but there are several cafes aimed at tourists, rafting and Jipping are offered, quad bike rental, there is a bath and sauna. There are a couple of dozen hotels and campsites, guest houses, you can find private housing for rent. Given the annual growth in popularity of the place, in the summer it is better to book accommodation here in advance.

How to get to Khamyshki

Public transport in Adygea is very poorly developed, it is most convenient to get to the village of Khamyshki or other tourist places in the Republic by private transport.   How to get from the airport to Hamyshki

  Upon arrival at Krasnodar airport, you will have to overcome almost 200 kilometers to Khamyshki. To make the journey by public transport, you will have to make several transfers by bus, and even adjust to their schedule, since they go infrequently. First, from the airport you need to get to the center of Krasnodar by taxi or city buses or trolleybuses (No. 7, No. 53 - to the railway station of Krasnodar; No. 15-to the railway and bus station), and at the bus station take an intercity bus to Maikop (departs from 06:00 to 20:00 approximately every hour, 3 hours on the way, cost from 240 USD), or to Kamennomostsky (departs at 06:50, 16:25, more than 4 hours on the way). If you go to Maikop, you will have to take a city bus/trolleybus from the intercity bus station to the suburban bus station at Gogol Street, 47 (bus station on the map), from where flights to Hamyshki (or rather, to Guzeipl via Hamyshki) depart to 6:50, 12:55, 16:30. If you get on the bus from Krasnodar to Kamennomostsky, then from there to Khamyshki you will have to go on the same passing buses from Maikop, or by taxi.

  Much faster and without transfers, you can take a taxi or book a tourist transfer directly from Krasnodar airport, but the trip will cost from 4000 rubles for a car with a capacity of up to 4 people.

• To Khamyshki by train

  The nearest railway stations are in Maikop (only trains from Sochi and Tuapse), as well as in Krasnodar and Belorechensk (long-distance trains). The railway station hadzhokh in Kamennomostsky since 2015 no longer operates, but may be restored in the future.

  It seems that the easiest way to get by train to Maikop, and from there change to the bus to Khamyshek, but in fact to Maikop by long-distance train can not be reached, there are only trains from Tuapse and Adler. Therefore, it is better to get through Belorechensk or even Krasnodar, where you can easily get by long-distance train from most regions of the Russian Federation.

  • Via Maikop

• To Khamyshki by bus

  By bus, Khamyshki can only be reached from Maikop by suburban buses. Also, these buses connect the village with Kamennomostsky, Guzeripl, Dakhovskaya. Long-distance buses do not go here.

  • Via Krasnodar

    From the Krasnodar Bus Station buses to Khamyshek do not go, you need to get with a transfer in Maikop or Kamennomostsky.

• To Khamyshki by car

  Given the inaccessibility of tourist places in Adygea, the ideal option to visit the Republic is personal vehicles. From Maikop to Guzeripl through Khamyshki there is one single road that ends in a dead end. This is a good road, on which major repairs were carried out in 2018.

  Parking in overnight areas is almost everywhere free, some guest houses offer to park cars in the courtyards. But even just on the street it is safe to leave the car here. Near the most popular tourist attractions there are paid parking (100 USD), and leave the car when hiking in Caucasian reserve for a long time you can park near the checkpoint for 200 rubles per day.

  Also, Adygea is very convenient for road travelers with a lot of organized auto camps and free places where you can camp and set up a tent. Basically, these places are located on the road from Kamennomostsky to Guzeripl. You can find paid camping on the signs on the road, and convenient free places to set up a tent can be found using "folk" maps in applications like OSM or MapsMe.

Attractions in Khamyshki

Directly in Khamyshki and the immediate vicinity of the village there are no well-known attractions. Without using transport, you can make light hiking along one of the trails to the nearest natural attractions (kutanka river waterfalls, Bzykhi waterfalls, Monk mountain, Split Rock); in the south of the village there is a dolmen and menhir on the territory of the Archaeological Park (but as of 2018 the Archaeological Park was closed). Also in Khamyshki you can rent an ATV and ride it around the neighborhood on your own or with a driver (rent on Mira Street, 20), ride horses, or do the most extreme type of entertainment – raft on an inflatable boat on the Belaya river (rafting). Rafting is offered in different levels of extremity and for different levels of training, and will suit even unprepared tourists. In the center of the village you can see the temple in honor of the Holy Martyrs Gury, Samon and Aviv. • Granite Canyon

  

  Granite Canyon or granite gorge (also Gorge Blockhouse) can be seen on the way from the village of Dakhovskaya to Khamyshki or Guzeripl. It is quite long, and throughout several kilometers along the road there are several viewing platforms on the Belaya River, squeezed in the grip of steep granite slopes.   🚶 How to get there: the canyon is located between the village of Dakhovskaya and the village of Khamyshki along the highway (Granite Canyon on the map. You can get here only by private car or taxi. Throughout 4 kilometers of the canyon there are several observation decks with parking, a spring will meet, and at the end (closer in Dakhovskaya) there is a branch of the dirt road to the tunnels and to the "Glade of gold prospectors".

• Rafting

  

  Rafting is one of the most popular and affordable forms of entertainment in Adygea, but at the same time the most dangerous. Of course, he is no more dangerous here than in other places, but still, do not take him too lightly. At the very least, it is necessary to listen to the recommendations of instructors, and not to take children on dangerous routes. Most of the routes take place on the Belaya River, where the stage of the Russian championship in this sport is also held.

  🚶 How to get there: there are several operators offering different routes, all the necessary equipment and equipment, instructors and delivery from your hotel. You can buy tours in all tourist villages (Kamennomostsky, Dakhovskaya, Khamyshki, Guzeripl), just ask at your hotel, and everything will be organized. • Dolmen in Hamyshki

  On the territory of the Archaeological Park on the outskirts of the village of Khamyshki are the remains of several dolmens and menhirs. But as of 2018, this archaeological park is closed to the public, and according to some information, the main Dolmen was split during its reconstruction.
