At an altitude of 2000 meters through the northern ridge of Mount Fansipan, 17 kilometers from Sapa, the road passes through the Tram Ton pass, and there is also an observation deck Heaven's Gate. On the Internet you can find photos of Heaven's Gate in Sapa in the form of a majestic passage through the rock, but in fact such photos depict a completely different place from Vietnam, in Sapa the gates of Paradise are an ordinary observation deck with views of the top Fansipan and the surrounding area.
Tram Ton is the highest mountain pass in Vietnam. The views from the observation deck are really fascinating, but, unfortunately, they are often hidden by fog, or rather clouds. In addition to the views, the climate in this place is also interesting. The fact is that the pass is the border between two climatic regions, and as soon as you cross it, the mountain coolness of Sapa and Laocai province will be abruptly replaced by the hot climate of another region.
The pass is located three kilometers along the way after Silver waterfall Thac Bac, near Love waterfall Love Waterfall, and therefore their visit should be combined. On the way to the pass there are several more viewing platforms with excellent views. Of course, as near any attraction in Vietnam, there is a small market and something to eat.

🚶 How to get there
The pass is located about 17 kilometers along a winding mountain road from Sapa (pass on the map). The easiest way to get here is by rented transport (Motobike) or with an excursion.
