Long Beach (Long Beach) is not just a beach, it's a whole 20-kilometer strip of white sand along the entire west coast of Phu Quoc. Its main advantage is the ideal gentle entry into the water and soft sand without stones or shells. If you are vacationing with children, you can enter the water for tens of meters – it's comfortable and safe everywhere.

After our attempts to find "wild" non-touristy beaches, which often turned out to be littered with trash (like, for example, Dam Beach), Long Beach became a real salvation for us. It's clean, civilized, and has absolutely everything for a comfortable vacation.

Best Areas of Long Beach: Where Exactly to Stay

Long Beach is very different along its entire length. We have conditionally divided it into three main sections, each suitable for its own type of traveler.

Northern Part (near Duong Dong)

• Atmosphere: The most lively and noisy. Here is the port, many inexpensive guesthouses, cafes, and shops.
• Beach: Wide, but the most crowded here. The infrastructure is slightly outdated compared to the south.
• For whom: For budget travelers and those who want to be in the center of events, close to the night market and the main city Duong Dong.

Central Part (the most popular)

• Atmosphere: The golden mean. Most 3-4* hotels, restaurants, bars, and main beach entertainment spots are concentrated here.
• Beach: Perfectly maintained, with a large number of sunbeds. This is the part most often shown in photos.
• For whom: For the majority of tourists looking for a balance between a relaxing vacation and accessible infrastructure.

Southern Part (near Sonasea)

• Atmosphere: The calmest and most respectable. New modern resorts and apartments are being built here.
• Beach: Wide and less crowded. The infrastructure is new and modern.
• For whom: For families with children, couples, and those who value comfort and tranquility. This is the section we ultimately chose for ourselves.

Beach Infrastructure: What's Available and How Much it Costs

• Sunbeds and Umbrellas

  

  Sunbeds and umbrellas are available everywhere on Long Beach. The standard price is 50,000 – 80,000 VND for a set for the whole day (approximately 1.9 - 3.04 USD). If you are staying in a first-line hotel, sunbeds are most likely free for guests.

  We noticed an interesting detail: the further south you go, the prices can be slightly higher, but the quality of the sunbeds is better – newer ones with mattresses are more common.

• Entertainment and Activities

  

  Long Beach is the main center for water activities in Phu Quoc. The main spots are in the central part and near Sonasea. The prices we recorded:

  • Parasailing – 800,000 VND/person / 30.39 USD.
  • Jet ski rental – 1,200,000 VND/20 minutes / 45.58 USD.
  • Banana boat ride – 1,500,000 VND for 5 people / 56.98 USD.

  In our opinion, the prices are quite high, but bargaining is appropriate, especially in the low season or if you are taking several activities.

• Food and Drinks

  Numerous bars and restaurants are located along the entire beach. Prices in them are higher than in the city, but quite adequate for the comfort. The average bill for lunch is 150,000–300,000 VND per person. Cocktails cost from 80,000 to 150,000 VND.

  Our advice: be sure to try the fresh seafood – it's cooked right in front of you. And don't miss the sunset time in one of the beach bars!

Tides on Long Beach

As on the entire west coast of Phu Quoc, Long Beach has tides. But the good news is that they practically do not interfere with swimming.

During low tide, the water simply recedes 10-20 meters, exposing the hard sandy bottom. The entry into the water remains gentle and safe. This is the perfect time for long walks along the water's edge and children's play on the shallows.

Pros and Cons of Long Beach: Our Verdict

• ✔ Undeniable Advantages:

• ⚠️ Minor Disadvantages:

  • Crowded in the central part during high season
  • Prices for entertainment and food are higher than in the city
  • Lack of shade – it can be hot at noon without an umbrella

Definitely yes! After seeing all the beaches of Phu Quoc, we can confidently say: Long Beach is the best choice for most tourists. Here you are guaranteed to get that beach vacation you come to a tropical island for: clean sand, clear water, gentle entry, and all the necessary infrastructure.
