One of the most interesting excursions for the adult part of holidaymakers in Yalta is an excursion to the famous Massandra winery. Just do not immediately think about the bad! This is an excursion not only for tasting and to the company store, but an immersion in history, because this is one of the places where Crimean winemaking originated and developed. By the way, children are also allowed on the tour, but they will not be very interested here.
Massandra Winery was founded in 1894 by Prince Lev Sergeyevich Golitsyn, the founder of Crimean winemaking. You will hear his name in different places of the Crimea and not only. So, under his leadership and on his initiative, this winery appeared, the Novy Svet champagne factory, the Abrau-Durso winery in the Krasnodar Territory and much more. Including the famous landmark at Novy Svet Resort bears his name is the Golitsyn Trail.
The plant offers a choice of several options for excursions. There is with and without tasting, group and individual, there is even with dinner. The most affordable is a group tour "Historical", which is available in two versions – with and without tasting, cost 1200 and 750 rubles, respectively. During the "Historical" excursion around the winery, you will be given an informative excursion into the history of winemaking in the Crimea, will be told about the formation of the plant and the peculiarities of local production. The route will pass through the cellars of the old factory and the production site, where, among other things, create a brand variety of Massandra fortified wine – Sherry. You will also be shown unique exhibits, among which there are very old and incredibly expensive wines, in particular Sherry De La Frontera of 1775 vintage.

🚶 How to get there
Massandra winery is located in the suburbs of Yalta in the village of Massandra on the street. Winemaker Egorova, 9 (Massandra winery on the map). It is not very far from the center, and if you wish, it will not be a problem to get here on your own, but we still recommend visiting this place on a group tour with a transfer from the center of Yalta. Such excursions are sold by distributors on the streets of the resort and on the embankment, cost a little more than an independent visit, while they include delivery by a comfortable tourist bus. If you still want to visit the factory yourself, then it is easy to do this in several ways. The most convenient option is to take a taxi, a one–way trip will cost from 300 rubles. For just 28 rubles you can take the city bus number109, it departs every 20 minutes from the stop "Yubileyny Square" in the very center of the resort (see route 109 on the map). There is free parking for private transport near the factory.
