The Golitsyn Trail, also known as the Falcon Trail, in our opinion, is the most interesting and most famous attraction of the village Novy Svet in Crimea. This is a mountain walking trail near the village, cut down on the slopes of Mount Koba-Kaya (Mount Eagle) in 1912 on the occasion of the arrival of Tsar Nicholas II by order of Prince Golitsyn.
Today anyone can walk along the trail, the cost is 100 rubles. The entire route is 5.47 kilometers and passes through the territory of the Novy Svet Nature Reserve. It will take from 2 to 4 hours to overcome it, depending on your physical form. By the way, no special preparation is required for hiking along the trail, a walk is available to everyone, but you need to stock up on strength and, preferably, water. Almost everywhere there are fences and railings, but in some places you should be careful. It is strictly forbidden to leave the trail, because it is a protected area.
During the walk there are wonderful views of the bay and the village, including from observation decks. Next, tourists get to the Golitsyn grotto (Pop grotto, Chaliapin grotto), which used to be a cave monastery, and later Golitsyn kept wine and champagne here, and even arranged variety evenings. There is a legend that Chaliapin sang here (hence the name), although in fact he never visited this place. Further along the coast of Robber Bay (also known as Blue Bay) and the beach, the trail leads to Cape Kapchik, from where wonderful views of Blue Bay and Tsarsky Beach open. Through Cape Kapchik passes A through grotto connecting the Blue and Blue Bays, but the passage through it is closed after a tragic accident. The walk ends with a passage through the juniper grove to the southern part of the village.

🚶 How to get there
the trail starts almost from the village itself, it is easy to get to the entrance on foot (entrance to the Golitsyn trail on the map). You can visit it on your own by simply coming to the entrance and buying tickets, or as part of an excursion, during which you will be told in detail about all the objects and beauties of the route. The trail also ends in the southern part of the village near the house of champagne wines "Novy Svet". You can also do the route in the opposite direction, because tickets are sold at both entrances / exits.
