Sights of Koreiz and Mishor - what to see on your own

Article and Section Navigation

The list of attractions and tourist attractions in Mishor and Koreiz is quite modest. It includes the Dulber Palace and the Yusupov Palace, the Mishorsky Park and the Rusalka sculpture group and the Arza Fountain. There is also a lower cable car station on Ai-Petri in Mishor, and pleasure boats depart from the local pier. At this point, all the attractions and tourist entertainment available to vacationers directly at the resort itself come to an end. Of course, in addition to the above, there are several other not so significant ancient palaces and historical sights and monuments, but they are inaccessible to most guests of the resort, since they are located on the territories of sanatoriums and boarding houses. And they (sanatoriums) they value the tranquility of their guests so much that they don't let anyone into the territory even for money.

And therefore, if you can't imagine your vacation without entertainment and attractions, you will have to go on your own or with excursions to other interesting places in the Crimea. If you have your own transport, then all roads are open for you, and you will be able to visit, for example, Bakhchisarai, Sevastopol, Balaklava, Foros, Simferopol, go to the caves of Alushta and much more without any problems during one-day trips. If there is no transport, then you can diversify your vacation with trips to the nearest interesting sights in Bolshaya Yalta, and there is a lot to see. We recommend at least Nikitinsky Botanical Garden, Foros Park, Vorontsov or Livadia Palace, take a walk around the center and the Yalta embankment. We advise you to read our guide to the sights of Yalta, you will find there for yourself many interesting options for trips during the day.

If you are not ready for independent trips, you can buy ready-made excursions. Distributors on the streets and the promenade of Mishor offer group sightseeing trips to almost all corners of the Crimea, their prices are affordable. Excursions are not sent every day, but according to the schedule by day, so we advise you to immediately get acquainted with the schedule from the distributors upon arrival on vacation, so that you have time to decide and book what will be more interesting for you.

It is also possible to book more interesting and unique excursions online on these verified sites with reviews:

Dulber Palace

Dulber Palace
Dulber Palace

Dyulber in translation from Crimean Tatar means beautiful, and this name fully corresponds to the description of the Dyulber palace: snow-white walls, silver domes, arched vaults, blue ornament on the walls. The palace is certainly very beautiful and unusual. It impresses with its architecture and resembles the oriental palace of an Arab sheikh. Dulber is listed among the objects of cultural heritage of the peoples of the Russian Federation, because it was built in the period from 1895 to 1897 for Prince Peter Nikolaevich Romanov (grandson of Emperor Nicholas I), who personally had a hand in creating the house project. Today the palace and the park are located on the territory of the sanatorium complex "Dyulber", and the palace itself occupies one of the residential buildings of the sanatorium. You can visit the park on your own and only for a fee, and you can get to the palace only with an excursion. Read more about the Dulber Palace here.

🕐 Working hours: access to the park from 09:00 to 19:00. Excursions are scheduled: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Sunday - 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, Wednesday – 13:00, 14:00, Saturday – 10:00, 11:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00, Monday is a day off.

🚶 How to get there: Dulber is located almost in the very center of Koreiz on Alupkinskoe highway, 19 (Dulber Palace on the map). The entrance to the park and to the palace is carried out from the Alupka highway from the stop "Sanatorium Dyulber", through the ticket offices and the checkpoint at the entrance to the sanatorium.

Yusupov Palace in Koreiz

This is another palace in Koreiz, created by the greatest architect N.P. Krasnov for Prince F.F. Yusupov. Like the Dulber Palace, it has great historical and cultural value. Today it is under the jurisdiction of the Office of the President of the Russian Federation and can be used as the residence of the President. In 1945, during the discussion and signing of the Yalta agreements between the USSR, Great Britain and the USA, a delegation of the USSR under the leadership of I.V. Stalin lived in the Yusupov Palace. Unfortunately, there is almost nothing left of the original interiors and furnishings from the Yusupov period, only the decoration of the walls, some of the items on display. All that is available today are pieces of furniture and exhibits from the period of the 40s of the XX century. You can visit the palace and the surrounding park only as part of an excursion group. Read more about the Yusupov Palace in Koreiz here.

🕐 Working hours: from May to October – from 10:00 to 19:00, from November to April – from 10:00 to 16:00.

🚶 How to get there: Yusupov Palace is located in Koreiz/Mishore at 26 Park Descent Street (Yusupov Palace on the map). The entrance to the park and the palace is carried out from the Alupka highway, the stop "Mishor bus station", the landmark is the hotel "1001 nights".

Mishor Park

Mishor Park in Koreiz

Due to its uniqueness, Mishorsky Park is a monument of landscape art, and for vacationers in Mishor it is also a great place for a calm and measured pastime, where you can walk enjoying the clean air and beautiful views. The park was laid out in the forest in 1880, its improvement lasted until 1891. There are more than 300 plants growing in it, from local pines and oaks, to exotic palms and cypresses. Learn more about Mishorsky Park here.

🕐 Working hours: around the clock, we do not recommend visiting in the evening due to the lack of lighting.

💵 Entrance fee / tickets price: free of charge.

🚶 How to get there: Mishorsky Park is located in Koreiz/Mishore along the coast and a chain of sanatorium beaches (Mishor Park on the map).

Mermaid Sculpture and Arza Fountain

Mermaid in Koreiz

Interesting and unusual sights of Mishor include two sculptural compositions interconnected with each other, one of which is a symbol of Mishor and is depicted on souvenirs - a sculpture of a Mermaid and a fountain "The Girl of Arza and the robber Ali Baba". They are located 50 meters from each other in the area of Rusalka beach: the Mermaid sculpture is in the sea, and the Arza fountain is on the shore. A very sad legend is connected with their origin, of course about love. Learn more about the Mermaid sculpture and the Arza Fountain

🕐 Working hours: around the clock.

💵 Entrance fee / tickets price: free of charge.

🚶 How to get there: A mermaid sculpture is located in the water 10 meters from the shore on the main city beach of Mishor, and a sculpture with a fountain next to the shore (Mermaid sculpture and Arza fountain on the map).

Boat trips

The motor ship at the pier "Rusalochka"

Perhaps the only tourist entertainment for vacationers available in Mishor is boat trips. From the pier "Little Mermaid" on the city beach several times a day there are scheduled motor ships to the Yalta pier, as well as pleasure boats. Traditionally, three walking options are offered: a night excursion; a sightseeing tour without disembarking towards Yalta (you will see the main palaces, including the Swallow's Nest); and along the east coast to Gurzuf and Ayu-Dag Mountain (you will see the same as on the previous one, plus the coast further east from Yalta). The schedule and cost vary seasonally, it is best to check it on the spot at the pier.

🕐 Working hours: Ships depart only in summer, several times a day according to the schedule. Excursion-a walk to Yalta up to 5 times a day, the rest once. Check the schedule on the spot at the pier or at the distributors.

💵 Entrance fee / tickets price: depending on the program, the cost is from 600 to 1500 rubles, discounts are provided for children.

🚶 How to get there: Motor ships depart from the Little Mermaid pier on the city beach (marina on the map). Tickets can be bought right there, at the pier, or from distributors on the beaches, the price is the same everywhere.

Ai-Petri Mountain

Ai-Petri Mountain, Yalta
Ai-Petri Peak

Ai-Petri is the most famous mountain in the Crimea, and, perhaps, it can be called the most famous natural tourist attraction of the peninsula. Of course, Nakhodistya mountain itself is not in Mishor and Koreiz, but it is here that the lower station of the cable car is located, which is most often used to get to the top. The mountain is considered a landmark place of the Crimean Peninsula and in our opinion is definitely worth a visit. From the top there are magnificent panoramic views of the surroundings. A whole complex with tourist entertainment has been formed on the mountain: there is a cafe, an extreme rope bridge, a zipline, horseback riding and ATVs, and a market for tourist goods. The bravest can climb even higher along the path to the highest point – the teeth of Ai-Petri (1234 m). And here you can visit three caves – Three-eyed, Geophysical and Yalta. But as of 2023, the Three-Eye and Geophysical were closed. Read more about Ai-Petri here.

🕐 Working hours: around the clock. It is best to visit in the morning, otherwise there is a chance to be in the afternoon fog at the top.

💵 Entrance fee / tickets price: you can come to the top of Ai-Petri, take a walk and admire the views from the observation deck for free. But for climbing to the teeth of Ai-Petri or walking along hiking trails on the slopes, you now need to pay the reserve fee of 150 rubles, for residents of the Crimea and preferential categories it is free.

🚶 How to get there: Ai-Petri is located near Mishor and Koreiz and 27 kilometers from the center of Yalta (Ai-Petri on the map). The cable car is located on the outskirts of the resort (cable car station on Ai-Petri on the map), you can get to it on foot or by bus No. 102, 132. You can also get to the top by your own transport or taxi, visit Ai-Petri with an excursion, or climb on foot along one of the tourist routes of the Yalta Nature Reserve. Read more at the link with the full description.

Just in case, we remind you once again that the best way to get acquainted with interesting places in Yalta is excursions. And even better if they are held by local residents who know and love their city well. You can find and book group or individual excursions with reviews on these trusted sites:
