Overview of the beaches of Mishor, pros and cons

Top Internet guides are full of descriptions of the splendor of the beaches of Mishor and Koreiz, but the reality is very far from these advertising descriptions. In fact, judging objectively, the beaches in Mishor can be assigned a three on a five-point scale with a stretch, there are too many shortcomings here. In our opinion, they can cause real delight only among the most unassuming vacationers.

Advantages of Mishora and Koreiz beaches

  • There are sand plots on the city beach, which is very rare for the southern coast of Crimea
  • Mishor has fairly clean and clear water

Cons of Mishora and Koreiz beaches

  • Infrastructure and entertainment on the beaches are presented at a minimum
  • Access to a part of the public beaches of Mishor is illegally blocked by sanatoriums
  • The whole coast is divided by breakwaters, it will not work to walk along the water
  • The promenade along the main beach is old and broken, requires complete reconstruction
  • On the shore and along the beaches there are old and dilapidated concrete and rusty metal structures that for some reason no one is dismantling.

All beaches in Mishor are publicly accessible and free of charge, but there are difficulties with access to them due to the lawlessness of local sanatoriums. So, the beaches of the sanatorium "Belorussia", Respect Hall and Ai-Petri, occupied almost the entire western (right) part of the shore in Mishor along Mishorsky Park. Officially, they are publicly accessible, as evidenced by the city signs with a description at their entrances. But it's not so easy to break through to the shore by the givers from the side. Sanatoriums have installed their own signs at the entrances with warnings about the ban on entry, the guards "drive away" those who want to come here, block the passages with temporary obstacles to the point that they force them with chairs and tables. In fact, you can go to these beaches, you just need to point the guards at the same official city signs, but most vacationers do not know this and pass by.

A lot of questions are caused by the condition of the embankment and concrete fortifications on the main city beach. Not everyone will like the close proximity to the pier. If you do not believe in the sad state of the Mishor beaches, look at these real photos:

Nevertheless, despite these obvious problems with Mishor beaches, many vacationers come back here again and again, and there are reasons for this too. There is clean water here, and some beaches even have sand. The famous Mishorsky Park stretches along the coast, and nearby is the center of Yalta with its entertainment. In general, Mishor has everything you need for a relaxing holiday by the sea, and if you don't have a "thing" about the grooming and beauty of the beaches, then maybe you will like it here. Read on the detailed description of each of the beaches of Mikhsor further, and it may be easier to solve:

Rusalka City beach

The main public beach of Miskhor is located in the center of the village and is easily accessible from anywhere on foot (city beach on the map). It got its folk name "Mermaid" because it has a beautiful sculpture of a mermaid in the water. This is a local landmark with which a beautiful legend is associated.

The city beach of Mishora (Koreiza) is quite long, almost half a kilometer, but not accessible throughout its entire length. Part of it is occupied by a pier, it is forbidden to swim there. But the remaining part is more than enough for rest.

We cannot call this beach magnificent, but if you are not particularly pretentious about the beauty of beaches, then in principle it will suit you. Unfortunately, the embankment here requires renovation and, apparently, has not been repaired since Soviet times. It houses several simple attractions, cafes and stalls with fast food and leisure goods.

There are pebbles, small pebbles and even sand on the shore. By the way, as far as we know, this is the only conditionally sandy beach in Yalta. But there is very little sand here, and it is not a fact that it will not be washed away by waves and bad weather in the future. There is a rental of deck chairs from 250 rubles / day, you can rent a catamaran or a Sup-surfing board for 500 rubles /hour. Photos will tell you about everything else on the Mermaid better than words:

The beach of the sanatorium "Belarus"

The beach of the sanatorium "Belorussia" is located near the western part of Miskhorsky Park (Belarus on the map). This is a sanatorium beach, but it is public. At the entrance to it, a guard can stop you threateningly, but you can safely pass by after listening to a mini-lecture about the fact that this is the beach of the sanatorium and you cannot use its facilities for free: sun loungers, awnings, toilets and showers.

In general, this is a pebble beach quite suitable for swimming, divided into short sections by breakwaters. It is suitable for recreation for both adults and children, but between the individual breakwaters there are large stones on the shore. There are not many facilities for tourists from the outside, there is no entertainment. In general, you can come here just to sunbathe and swim, because there are usually few vacationers here.

Beach Respect Hall

This beach is located on the shore next to the beach "Belarus" (Respect Hall on the map). Respect Hall belongs to the hotel of the same name, but is not closed and is accessible from outside. But, to be honest, if you are not a guest of the hotel, there is not much to do here. There is a very narrow strip of pebbles and large stones, which makes it difficult to swim in the sea for those who swim poorly and for children. Instead, it is proposed to swim in the pool, equipped in a concrete embankment, but this can only be done by hotel guests. There are not a lot of places to stay on the shore on pebbles, and therefore if you want to relax on your mattress or towel for free, it's better to skip Respect Hall.

The beach of the sanatorium "Ai-Petri"

Like other beaches on this side of Miskhor (Ai-Petri sanatorium beach on the map), this one belongs to the sanatorium and they are symbolically trying to restrict vacationers' access to it by installing warning signs and the presence of guards at the entrance. But in fact, you can pass through it completely unhindered, you will simply be limited in the free use of amenities. If you want to use all the services and amenities for free, you can book accommodation in Ai-Petri.

This beach is generally not bad, in our opinion even the best in this corner of the resort. There is a lot of space on the shore, you can stay on your mattress or rent a chaise longue, use the toilet and shower for a fee, and free changing booths. One of the passages to the shore is interesting: it is made in the form of a through cave through a rock.

The beach of the sanatorium "Ai-Todor"

This is another beach in the chain of sanatorium beaches of Mishor, the closest to the center and the smallest – only 60 meters in length (Ai-Todor sanatorium beach on the map). Despite its central location and belonging, it is almost abandoned and resembles a wild beach. There are no amenities and infrastructure here, the sunshades are old and rusty, but everything is free.

Hotels and accommodation in Koreiz and Mishor, where to stay

Mishor is a small resort, however, despite this, there is quite a wide variety of accommodation options. If you want, you can stay on vacation in one of the local sanatoriums or boarding houses, choose a 3 or 4 star hotel, or stay in an inexpensive mini-hotel or guest house. There is also private housing for rent, which is usually the most profitable, especially if you need to settle down as a family. But in high season, all options are quickly "disassembled", so if possible, it is better to book a month or two before the start of the season.
