Yusupov Palace in Koreiz

What to Expect and Is It Worth Visiting

Yusupov Palace is another palace in Koreiz, created by the greatest architect N.P. Krasnov for Prince F.F. Yusupov. Like Dulber Palace, it has great historical and cultural value. Today it is under the jurisdiction of the Office of the President of the Russian Federation and can be used as the residence of the President.

Before the alteration in 1909 into the Yusupov Palace and giving it its current appearance, the estate of Princess A.S. Golitsina called the "Pink House" was located on this site. In Soviet times, the assignment was nationalized and used as a state dacha for senior political leaders of the USSR and foreign figures. In 1945, during the discussion and signing of the Yalta agreements between the USSR, Great Britain and the USA, a delegation of the USSR under the leadership of I.V. Stalin lived in the Yusupov Palace.

Unfortunately, there is almost nothing left of the original interiors and furnishings from the Yusupov period, only the decoration of the walls, some of the items on display. All that is available today are pieces of furniture and exhibits from the period of the 40s of the XX century.

The palace is surrounded by a beautiful park with fountains, century-old trees, flower beds, fountains. On the territory there are alleys of Glory and Memory, another house of Princess A.S. Golitsyna, called the palace of Princess Golitsyna. Not far from it is Stalin's bunker. Unfortunately, both of these buildings are closed to the public.

In general, in our opinion, given the high cost and lack of exquisite elements in the decoration of both the palace itself and the interior interiors, and a slightly neglected garden, it is not necessary to visit it. It is better to prefer Vorontsov or Livadia palaces. But if you have already visited both and have absolutely nothing to do, then you can visit here.

You can visit the palace and the park only as part of an excursion group. Entrance to the park territory (without inspection of the palace) is carried out by an entrance ticket to the palace.

Since the palace belongs to the Administration of the Affairs of the President of the Russian Federation, sometimes official events take place here, and then its visit by tourists may not be available.
