Attractions and entertainments in Tuapse and what to see

Although Tuapse is the administrative and a kind of cultural center of the Tuapse district, in fact, the city does not abound in unique and interesting sights for tourists. Here you can visit three museums, walk along the embankment, and that's all. Since Tuapse is a city of military glory, there are several monuments and monuments of the Second World War and other periods, but it is difficult to call them interesting places for tourists. But during a walk around the city you can pay attention to some of them, here are the most significant: the Eternal Flame On The Hill of Heroes, "Anti-Aircraft Gun", fighters for the power of the Soviets who died in the Second World War for the North Caucasus, etc.

Some internet guides include alleys, parks, squares, individual monuments and sculptures among the city attractions. But, in our opinion, you are unlikely to spend time on vacation in search of such places to take a photo against the background of the monument or to sit on a bench in the alley. Therefore, we will not give their descriptions in our guide below.

Things are somewhat better with the sights in the vicinity of the city on the territory of the Tuapse district. These are mainly natural places (waterfalls, mountain rivers, mountains, rocks), but there are also special historical and cultural attractions-dolmens and menhirs. You can visit them yourself on your own transport or suburban buses.

If independent trips are not for you, you can buy ready-made excursions. In Tuapse, they are offered a lot, they are sold from distributors on the embankment and near the City Beach. The variety is great: from sightseeing tours around the city to trips to distant attractions of the Krasnodar Territory, to neighboring regions or to Abkhazia. Just keep in mind when buying that the price usually does not include admission to attractions and entertainments, food and drinks, check this information with the seller. Tourist entertainments in Tuapse are also few. There is no water park or Dolphinarium, but only a small park with children's attractions on the embankment. Even on the central beach there are no traditional water Entertainments, only occasionally there are "private traders" offering jet ski rental, and there is also a rental of Sapsurfing boards (SUP-board). As a result, paradoxically, for entertainment from the city you will have to go to neighboring resort towns and villages, where there are water parks, dolphinariums, and oceanariums. Evening entertainments in Tuapse are also not developed, there are no bars and nightclubs. You can diversify the evening here only with a walk along the embankment and Revolution Square, and dinner in one of the few cafes.

Local History Museum

The Local History Museum of Tuapse or the completely Tuapse Local History Museum named after N. G. Poletaev is a place from which you should start getting acquainted with the history and sights of the entire Tuapse district, if you are at least a little interested. True, the price for visiting is somewhat overstated: a walk through the halls of a not so large museum will cost a 2+2 family 600 rubles, and with excursion accompaniment even more.

The exposition consists of several halls telling about the history of the region since ancient times. There is a section about the nature and riches of the area, archaeological, pre-revolutionary, and a considerable part is devoted to the exhibition about the heroic period of the Second World War. There is also a mini planetarium at the museum for an additional fee.

Tuapse Defense Museum

The Local History Museum of defense of Tuapse is small, consists of two halls. Dedicated to the heroic defense of the city during the Great Patriotic War. The collection includes weapons, uniforms, documents, awards, etc. On the walls are detailed information about the course of the battle. Visiting the museum just to get acquainted with the exhibits is not very interesting and informative, you can see everything in 5 minutes. Therefore, we highly recommend that you additionally purchase tour support with the purchase of tickets.

Kiselyov House Museum

Alexander Alexandrovich Kiselyov-painter (1838-1911), member of the Society of artists-peredvizhniki of the late XIX century. It is in his honor that the famous natural landmark is named, Kiselyov rock on the shore between Tuapse and Agoy, which later became known to the general public as one of the filming locations of the Soviet film "The Diamond hand". The artist built himself this house in 1902, because he loved these places very much. Today, the museum recreates the situation during the life of the artist, exhibited his furniture, dishes and of course paintings (there are originals and copies).

Promenade and amusement park

The coastal zone within the city is occupied mainly by the port and enterprises, but a small area of several hundred meters is a pedestrian embankment or Primorsky Boulevard. There is a park with simple attractions, cafes, several pavilions with tourist goods, a Singing Fountain, monuments. And from the embankment there is the best view of one of the modern symbols of the city - the Rosmorflot Tower. This is not to say that this is a very fun place, in fact, there are few tourists and vacationers here, but if you want to take a walk during your vacation, then go here.

Hill Of Heroes

Heroes Hill is the highest point in the city and a memorial to the fallen defenders of the city during the Second World War. At the foot of the Hill are memorial plaques with the names of heroes, and up to the grave of the Unknown Soldier and the eternal flame leads a wide staircase. Also upstairs is the Museum of local lore and the Church of Alexy Metropolitan of Moscow, built on the site of the first Tuapse church.

But the most interesting places in relative proximity to the city, which you can and should visit yourself:

• Dolmen in Tuapse

  In the vicinity of Tuapse, several megalithic Dolmen structures have been discovered, but most of them are either difficult to access or destroyed by vandals and residents. One of the most easily accessible and equipped to visit is located in the village of Prigorodny on the slopes of Mount Bogatyrka, and for this there is a paid tourist route. It is believed that this is the largest dolmen in the Krasnodar square.

  Everyone can pass this tourist route, its pedestrian part is very simple. And all you have to go a little more than a kilometer, which can be done in 30-60 minutes. Also on the route there are several smaller dolmens, which were given the sonorous names of "prosperity", "loyalty", "happiness", "totem", etc., menhir and several more "stone" attractions.

  🕐 Working hours: the route operates from 1 May to 30 September daily from 09:00 to 17:00. In practice, you can visit it outside the work season, and for free.

  💵 Entrance fee / tickets price: entrance to the tourist route is paid, adults-100 rubles, children 6-12 years – 60 rubles, up to 6 years – free of charge. Theoretically, according to the documents, the cost includes accompanying the conductor along the route, in practice, a paper card is issued. For an additional fee of 300 rubles, you can get a tour guide.

  🚶 How to get there: dolmen and tourist route is located in the village Prigorodny 6 kilometers from the center of Tuapse (Dolmen on the map), the entrance and ticket offices are at the end of Pushkin Street. You can get here by bus № 165, 171, 174, 175, 176 and 179 from the Tuapse bus station, the fare costs about 20 rubles. Further from the stop you need to go along Pushkin Street steeply up to the sign for the entrance to the dolmens. By car you can get directly to the entrance, but note that the street is very narrow, there are difficulties with parking if the parking lot at the entrance is occupied. Ready-made excursions from Tuapse cost 700 rubles without an entrance fee.

• Perun Waterfall

  

  It can not be said that this is a little-known place, but still tourists are not often here. Therefore, if you like untrodden hiking trails, you can go for a walk to the Perun waterfall. The route is simple, you need only some orientation skills and preferably a navigator. You will have to go along rocky trails, so it's better to wear hiking shoes or at least sneakers. But it is worth warning that when you reach the waterfall, you can be very disappointed: unfortunately, during the dry season from July to September, it dries up completely, or at best turns into a thin trickle of water.

  🚶 How to get there: located 15 kilometers from the center of Tuapse in the village of Dachny (waterfall on the map. Here you can get by train to the station "Dachnaya", by bus by bus № 165, 171, 174, 175, 176 and 179 from the bus station of Tuapse, or a private car. • Dolphin Water Park

  This is a large open-air water park with high extreme slides and a zone for children, a cafe bar, a zone for beach recreation, foam parties are held. They say that this is the first water park in Russia, but this is inaccurate.

  In general, it quite competes with other large water parks on this coast, and even go here from neighboring resorts and areas. During your vacation in Nebuga, you should definitely visit it, especially with children. If the price of a visit is too high for you, then you can independently go to small water parks in Olginka or Lermontovo, but compared to this water park they are just tiny.

  Before visiting, carefully check the weather forecast, because in case of bad weather (the water park is open), the money for tickets is not returned, and having fun in the rain and in cold water is not very pleasant.

  Payment is accepted only in cash, cards and online transfers are not accepted. Discounts are provided for large children and on their birthday. Prices may change during the season, check on the official website.

  🚶 How to get there: located in the resort area of Nebuga, ten minutes walk from the beach, entrance from the main highway (water park on the map. You can get from Tuapse by commuter buses (see how to get to Tuapse and transportation. For personal transport there is paid parking for 200 rubles, or you can park the car on the side of the road a little away from the main entrance.

• Dolphinarium "Nebug"

  

  Previously, this Dolphinarium was called "Aquamir", now just "Nebug". A good open-air Dolphinarium, and in our opinion a must-visit place with children. People come here to see the show from the neighboring resorts of the Tuapse district and even further. Bottlenose dolphins, sea lion and fur seal participate in the performance. Everything takes place traditionally: to music, spectacular, fun and with humor. For an additional fee, you can take pictures with dolphins, but dolphin therapy and swimming with dolphins are not offered here, for this you need to go to the nearest dolphinarium in Djubga.

• Kiselyov Rock

  

  This rock is the most famous place near Agoy, it was here that the fishing scene in the famous Soviet film "diamond hand" was filmed. In general, it became famous and was named after the artist-peredvizhnik A. A. Kiselyov, who wrote several of his famous paintings here.

  The Rock is located right on the seashore and is a forty-meter vertical wall, covered at the top with dense vegetation. At its foot is a Pebble Beach.

  🚶 How to get there: located on the shore between Tuapse and ago (Kiselev rock on the map. You can get from Agoy along the coast on foot from Tuapse only by road. By bus you can get to the turn to the rocks near the sign "Tuapse", and then walk 2 kilometers on asphalt and primer. By private car you can get even closer, but the last 800 meters are still on foot. Just before the cliff there will be a steep descent to the shore, be careful. Sea excursions to the rock with rest on the beach are also offered.

• AgoI pass

  Ago pass is located on the ridge between Tuapse and ago, and is a kind of border between two geographical zones: temperate and subtropical. There is an observation deck, a war memorial, a restaurant and The Lost World rope park.

  🚶 How to get there: located 7 kilometers from the center towards Agoy (pass on the map. You can get there by any bus in the direction of Agoya, there is a free parking area for cars.

• Lost World rope park

  The rope park for adults and children is located in the forest on the Agoi pass. There are several trails of varying complexity, equipped directly on the trees in the natural environment. The passage of routes takes place after instruction and under the supervision of instructors. It is planned that laser tag will also appear here and "forest" quests will be developed.

• Waterfalls and gorge of the Dederkoi River

  

  This is a picturesque tourist route, which along the gorge of the Dederkoy mountain river will lead you to several waterfalls and water slides. As far as we know, this route is not officially issued, so it is not equipped with signs and markers for visiting, but it is easily overcome even by tourists without experience. Also, local guides and guides offer tours here on ATVs, jeeps and horses. However, they most often bring (bring) only to the first waterfall on the tributary of the Tuishkho River, although the most interesting waterfall with a swimming pool is further away, and you can only walk to it.   🚶 How to get there: the starting point of the route along the Dederkoy River Gorge is located on the outskirts of Dederkoy village at the end of Sovkhoznaya Street (the beginning of the march on the map. You can get to the beginning of the route by car, leave it on the side of the road in the village, and then walk along the riverbed.
