General information

Lermontovo (Lermontovo) is a small resort village on the Black Sea coast, belongs to Tuapse (Tuapse district). From Krasnodar here 125 kilometers, and just 4 kilometers away is resort village of dzhubga (Lermontovo on the map). In general, Lermontovo is officially a village with a permanent population of just over 1,000 people, but during the tourist season it increases significantly due to tourists and seasonal tourism workers.

Lermontovo is a Black Sea beach resort with a full range of services and leisure opportunities. There are pebble and sandy beaches, a promenade, many accommodation options, and even a little entertainment for tourists. Although the resort is officially considered a village, it cannot be called a quiet and peaceful place. During the high season, this is far from a village: the central beach is almost always crowded with vacationers, the streets are packed with tourists and merchants, and the intercity highway passing through the center does not add comfort to the resort. In general, a beach holiday here will appeal to tourists of all categories and ages, but you need, of course, to take into account some disadvantages:

• Access to the beach only via the intercity highway.
• It is relatively difficult to get there without personal transport, there is no railway

In Lermontovo there are sandy, sandy-pebble and pebble beaches. The total length of the coastline with beaches within the resort is just under two kilometers, but part of the shore is occupied by the children's beach of the Sea Wave health camp, access from there is prohibited. The rest of the beaches are open to the public, there are no illegal paid ones.

On the shore there is a standard set of beach entertainments, changing cabins, paid toilets. Along the Central Beach stretches an embankment with a chain of cafes and fast food outlets, pavilions selling draught alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Prices for entertainment services are the same as on the entire Black Sea coast.

Infrastructure in Lermontovo

The center of the village and the most developed part of the resort is located along the Embankment street (not to be confused with the promenade along the shore). There are shops, excursions, grocery stores, cafes and canteens, pharmacies. On Primorskaya Street there are chain stores "Magnet" and "Pyaterochka". At the entrance to the Central or "Golden Beach" there is a good store with goods for recreation. There are no shopping centers here, but you can buy everything you might need on vacation.

Another place of concentration of tourist infrastructure is a promenade along the coast. There are cafes and canteens, kebabs, sale of draught alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The prices here are slightly higher than in the center, since this is a recreation area.

There are several ATMs of different banks in the village, and you will probably need them. You can pay with a plastic card in most stores, but you will need cash in the markets, when buying excursions, paying for accommodation, in some cafes and restaurants. Considering that ATMs work intermittently (there is simply not enough cash for all), it is always better to take care in advance of having enough cash. There are at least a hundred accommodation options in Lermontovo, mainly mini-hotels or private guest houses and apartments.

There is no division into districts in the village, the settlement is already small. Perhaps the main rule that should be followed when choosing a place of accommodation is not to be too far from the beach and the center. It is advisable to settle in walking distance from the Embankment street, where the main tourist infrastructure is concentrated.

How to get there

Lermontovo is located on the Black Sea coast on the highway from Dzhubga to Tuapse and Sochi, 125 kilometers from Krasnodar (Lermontovo on the map). Lermontovo is the second Black Sea resort along this route after Dzhubga. You can't get here by train or plane directly, but you need to make transfers through Krasnodar. Therefore, the best way to get to Lermontovo is by private car. If you don't have a personal car or you don't like car travel, then in general there is no big problem to get there with transfers, you just have to spend a little more time.

The nearest airport to Lermontovo is located in Krasnodar - this is Krasnodar airport "Pashkovsky" (now called Krasnodar International Airport named after Catherine II). It operates flights from Moscow and the regions of the Russian Federation, international flights. Especially a lot of flights are made in the summer during the tourist season. Krasnodar Airport is located 115 kilometers from Lermontovo (airport on the map). You can only get directly to the resort from it by taxi (300 USD), and buses will have to make one or two transfers in Krasnodar and Dzhubga.

There is no railway through Lermontovo, you can get by train through railway stations in Krasnodar, Goryachy Klyuch or Tuapse. The same trains pass through them in the direction to Adler (Sochi), so by and large it does not matter which station to go to. But it is still more convenient and cheaper to get to the Goryachy Klyuch or Krasnodar. It makes sense to go to Tuapse station only if you get to Lermontovo from Sochi.

There is no bus station in Lermontovo, but a highway passes through the city, along which all buses pass in the direction of Tuapse and Sochi. Accordingly, you need to look for bus tickets in these directions with the condition that you will be dropped off here. Disembarkation takes place in the center on the main highway without entering the village. You can also take a bus to Dzhubga, and already there at the bus station change to a taxi (200 USD) or a commuter bus to Lermontovo for 16 rubles.

Attractions and entertainment, what to see

The only attraction that can be attributed to Lermontovo is the Tenginsky waterfalls, and even then they are located 7 kilometers from the resort in the village of Tenginka. In addition, there are no attractions in Lermontovo at all, and in order to diversify the rest culturally and interestingly, you will have to go on group or individual excursions. Fortunately, there are no problems with this, and during the season there are many options for sightseeing tours for one or several days to all corners of the Krasnodar Territory, to the Crimea, the Republic of Adygea, to Abkhazia.

You can buy excursions from distributors on the street. It is safe and inexpensive, the choice is large. Prices from different distributors for similar tours differ slightly, but the program may differ. Here are the most popular excursions and prices (adult/child):

• Jipping to the mountains to the waterfall, mini zoo, etc. – 1000/500 rubles.
• Sea fishing – 1500r./3 hours.
• Boat trip to Inal Bay and therapeutic mud – 1500r.
• Diving – 2500 rubles/dive.
• Horseback riding – 800 rubles/hour.

If you are on vacation by private transport, you will be able to go and get acquainted with entertainment and sights in Dzhubga, in Tuapse, Arkhipo-Osipovka, take a walk on Colonel's or Gebius waterfalls. But keep in mind that if you go in the direction of Tuapse, you have much more chances to get into an hour-long traffic jam than in the direction of Dzhubga, Krasnodar or Arkhipo-Osipovka, so these directions are more convenient to visit during one day. Moreover, you can even walk to Dzhubga along the highway.

Tourist entertainment in Lermontovo, but quite a bit. You can visit a water park or a children's amusement park, a full set of active entertainment is presented on the beach. Independently or with an excursion, you can go to Dzhubga, where there is a dolphinarium, a large water park, a penguin garden, an oceanarium, etc. There are no evening entertainments in Lermontovo, except that you can walk along the embankment, sit in a cafe and eat a barbecue with homemade wine.
