Rest in Kuchuguri is suitable if you are not very pretentious about the cleanliness and arrangement of the resort, and are ready to sacrifice this for the sake of beaches and warm sea. Although the village exists primarily due to tourism, it remains an ordinary Russian village, resembling a dacha with bad roads, without sidewalks, parks and a walking area. Nevertheless, families with children and tourists of the older generation go here with pleasure to rest, just to do nothing and be near the sea.

The main advantage of the resort of Kuchugura and the reason why they come here are its long sandy beaches and the warm sea of Azov, ideal for holidays with children. The sea of Azov has a depth of only 14 meters, and therefore warms up much faster and stronger than the Black Sea. In addition, there is no sharp cooling of the water due to the rise of cold layers from the bottom, as it happens on the Black Sea even in high summer. The slope of the bottom is very small, which allows even the smallest children to swim safely enough.

The sand on Kuchugury Beach is yellow, mixed with shells. In some places, it is completely shell-like, for example, the coast near the mud volcano Azov inferno. In the city, the beach is more or less equipped: there are sun loungers and sunshades for rent, there is a lifeguard tower, there are sellers of drinks and fast food. Outside the village, the wild beach stretches for many kilometers, and this is a favorite place for lovers to relax on the shore with a tent. Infrastructure in the village is very poorly developed, especially tourist. There are several grocery stores and basic necessities, a pharmacy, a mobile phone salon, a market, points of sale of excursions, cafes and kebabs, several canteens. The nearest city where you can go for shopping or services is Temryuk. There are two ATMs of Sberbank on Lenin Street,and there is a branch of this bank. There are no ATMs of other banks, so if you need to withdraw money from a card of a third-party bank without commission, you will have to go to Temryuk. You can pay with a card in shops and some cafes. When paying for accommodation, only cash is accepted here. You can pay for accommodation with a card only if you book an object with payment for accommodation on the website of one of the aggregators, as described below.

Hotels and accommodation in Kuchuguri

In total, there are more than a hundred accommodation options in the village. There are no large hotels here, and in general there are few hotels and guest houses operating under official signs. Most of the accommodation is rooms, houses and apartments for rent. Prices in comparison with other resorts of the Krasnodar Territory are even very reasonable:

Of course, if you want to relax in comfort (air conditioning, TV, private bathroom, pool, breakfast, proximity to the beach), you will have to pay one and a half to two times more. The location of the accommodation facility in Kuchuguri is not of fundamental importance. Wherever you choose a hotel or accommodation, you will always be within walking distance of the beach and the village center. But if you have to choose one of these two months, it is better to go in September than in May.

How to get to Kuchuguri

Kuchuguri is not the most convenient resort for a trip to it by public transport, so if you do not have your own car, we recommend purchasing a ready-made tour, which includes a transfer directly to the place of rest. You can do this on these sites, or through the search form:

From the airports it is most convenient to get by taxi or use a tourist transfer, since there are no direct buses, and you will have to make several transfers. The cheapest taxi ride is from the airport Anapa.

It is better not to order a taxi on the spot, it is cheaper to do it through the Yandex.Taxi app or order a ready-made tourist transfer in advance. In the latter case, the driver will be waiting for you on arrival at the airport with a sign with your name, and will comfortably take you to the desired hotel or apartment in Kuchuguri. If a taxi or tourist transfer is expensive for you, you can take buses with transfers through Temryuk, but note that the bus from Temryuk to Kuchugury runs very rarely, and it is possible that you will still have to take a taxi part of the way.

If you want to get here by train, then you need to go to Anapa or Krasnodar, where in the season there are trains from Moscow, St. Petersburg and many regions. You can also go to Slavyansk-on-Kuban or Krymsk, but there are trains only from Moscow and St. Petersburg, and getting from them to Kuchugury is more difficult. Only a suburban bus from Temryuk goes to Kuchuguri, and long-distance buses do not go here at all. Therefore, in any case, you will have to get with a transfer through Temryuk. In turn, there are very few direct long-distance buses from the regions to Temryuk, and you will most likely have to take a bus to Krasnodar, and change there at the Krasnodar-2 bus station. Therefore, we recommend getting to Kuchuguri by bus only if there is a direct flight from your city to Temryuk.

Attractions and entertainment in Kuchuguri, what to see and do

There are no attractions in Kuchuguri, but you can visit some interesting places near the resort on the Taman Peninsula. The visiting card among the attractions of the peninsula are mud volcanoes, including therapeutic mud, and Lotus Valley. One of the mud volcanoes of the Azov inferno, by the way, is just a short drive from the village, and it can be reached even on foot. You can also go to Temryuk to the museum and visit other volcanoes during your vacation, there is nothing more to see here. Another place for a day trip is Taman, where there is a good historical museum, the Museum of the Cossacks, the Lermontov House Museum and the ruins of the settlement.

Getting acquainted with the few sights from Kuchugury is most convenient on your own by car, but a trip to the sights on local public transport is not an option at all, since buses run very rarely. You can also purchase excursions on site from distributors, or book them online:

Entertainment in Kuchuguri is also not much: there is an amusement park with attractions for children and adults, a go-karting track, simple beach attractions. You can correct your health in the pump room of mineral water, or in the pool and mineral baths from the same well, there is even a fish massage (fish spa). You can spoil your health in a cafe with a cup of beer, or have dinner in one of the restaurants with a glass of local wine, and this is where the entertainment ends.
