Kuchugury resort is located on the shore of the Sea of Azov with traditional sandy beaches and very warm water. If you are not already aware, the Sea of Azov has a maximum depth of only 14 meters, and therefore warms up very well, and earlier than the Black Sea. And there are no rises from the bottom of the layers of cold water, which unexpectedly occur even at the height of the bathing season in the resorts of the Black Sea.
So, the beaches in Kuchuguri are sandy and very long. Within the village, the main beach stretches for 3 kilometers, and then continuously extends beyond it for many kilometers. All beaches here are free, there are no illegally seized hotels or sanatoriums either.
The sand on the beaches of Kuchugury is yellow, mixed with whole and crushed shells. The further from the village, the more shells, and on the beach of Cape Pekla it is completely shell. The entrance to the water is very gentle, swimming is safe for children. But, of course, you should always look after them, even at the shallowest depth.
The water here, in comparison with other resorts of the Sea of Azov, is very clean due to the proximity of the Kerch Strait. But depending on the season and weather (during winds and storms) it can become cloudy for several days.
Tides and ebbs on the Sea of Azov are practically absent, so you can not worry at all about the fact that low water in the middle of the day will spoil the rest. But here's a tidal graph just in case, if you're interested:
In Kuchuguri there is no official division into beaches by name, there is no point in this, since there is only one beach, there are no divisions and accessories to sanatoriums, hotels or districts. However, you can divide the local beaches into the following sections:
City or Central Beach Kuchugur
City or Central Beach on the map
Located in the village, has a length of 3 kilometers. The most equipped part of this beach is located in the area of the amusement park, where there is a rental of sun loungers (from 100 USD), canopies, a lifeguard tower, and beach entertainment. There is even some semblance of an embankment. Throughout the rest of the coast of the central beach, there is almost nothing from the infrastructure. Access is not limited anywhere, there are quite a lot of exits to the beach from the streets.
Wild beaches outside the village
As soon as the construction of the village ends, a wild sandy beach stretches for many kilometers on both sides of it. But there is a peculiarity: a steep cliff rises above the shore here, so that you can only go up and down from the road that runs along the shore in some places. By the way, there are also exits for cars, which are used by car enthusiasts, driving down these roads to the beach, and arranging tent camps there. But keep in mind that the water protection zone from the seashore is 500 meters, so if you park your car there, you can get a fine for violating the Water Code of the Russian Federation.
Cape Pekla Beach
This is the most unusual beach in the vicinity of Kuchugur. The coast here is completely covered with a layer of small shells, there is almost no sand. Swimming and sunbathing here is not very convenient, but you can collect a bunch of beautiful shells as souvenirs or for crafts. And nearby is the only attraction of Kuchugur-the mud volcano Azov Inferno.
