Description and is it worth a visit
Vung Tau Church is the oldest church in Vung Tau city. An attractive tourist destination that is definitely worth visiting during a walk to local attractions. This is not only a religious building, but also an important historical and architectural monument that attracts attention with its uniqueness and beauty.
It was built in 1889 and was originally a small wooden church, where French and Vietnamese believers came. However, in 1904, the building was seriously damaged by a severe storm. In 1940 the church was restored. Despite numerous reconstructions, it has retained its original features and ancient appearance.
Vung Tau Church is located in the very center of the city and occupies a spacious area surrounded by shady trees. The building combines elements of Gothic architectural style with Asian and modern motifs, such as curved roof lines. The interior of the church is classical. Most of the wooden prayer tables and chairs that are located here are antique and have been preserved in their original form for hundreds of years.
