Description and is it worth visiting
Spring of Life – is another attraction worth attention only if you've stayed in Ban Ho during trekking, or came here to spend the night in one of the homestays. Essentially, it's just a pool at a small waterfall where you can take a dip. By the way, it's quite large and deep. The water from this pool then flows into the Muong Hoa River.
The water in the pool is very cool, refreshing in the heat, but too cold in the evening. But even if you don't swim, it's still worth taking a walk here: the place is quite picturesque, and sometimes you can meet local fishermen casting nets. However, be aware that swimming during and after rain is dangerous, as the water flow from the waterfall is too strong.
Warning! Visiting the spring during the rainy season is dangerous. During heavy rains, water is released from the hydroelectric reservoir upstream, and then the water level rises instantly to dangerous levels, and the strong current can sweep away swimmers. There has even been a tragic fatality.
🕐 Opening Hours
During daylight hours.
💵 Entrance Fee / Ticket Price
Free, but you need to pay for entry to Muong Hoa Valley - 150,000 VND (5.7 USD, see all about Vietnamese money and exchange rates). Usually this amount is already included in the cost of the trekking tour.
🚶 How to Get There
Spring of Life is located in Ban Ho village, 24 kilometers from Sapa (Spring of Life on the map). Two paths lead to it: along the water on either bank from under the red metal bridge, or along the trail from the Sapa Orange Homestay or Van Muon Homestay. Near the latter, there's even a spot where you can leave a motorbike under supervision for a fee of 10,000 VND.
