Saigon Zoo & Botanical Gardens is one of the best places in Ho Chi Minh City where you can go with children. In order to fully explore the zoo, you need at least half a day, and the time spent is worth it, especially if you are with children. At the same time, the cost of visiting is simply obscenely low.
The territory is very large and green, most of the animals are located right under the open sky. There are a lot of inhabitants, among them: elephants, crocodiles, tigers, monkeys, giraffes, hippos, rhinos, deer and others. There are also birds, including beautiful peacocks. Snakes, lizards, turtles and other reptiles are represented in the terrarium. There is a small pavilion with butterflies. In addition to animals, there is also a botanical garden on the territory of the zoo, where exotic plants, including flowers and cacti, are presented.
At the entrance, they give a booklet-map, with which it is easier to navigate through a huge area. Also in the zoo there is a place to sit and relax: on the benches by the fountain or in a cafe. There is even a Playground.
By the way, you can combine entertainment at the Zoo and a walk through the botanical garden with a visit to The Museum of the History of Vietnam, which is very close.
