Attention! Since 2017, Notre Dame De Saigon has been undergoing a major renovation, which is expected to end in 2027.
Notre Dame De Saigon (Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral, Cathedral of Our Lady of Saigon, Cathedral of Our Lady of Paris, Basilica of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, Basilica of Saigon Cathedral Notre-Dame) is an active Catholic church, one of the top places to visit in Ho Chi Minh City and the architectural business card of the city. Located on the Paris Commune Square in the city center, a twenty-minute walk from the tourist area. Often in different sources you can find the names of the temple, like the Cathedral of Our Lady of Saigon, the Cathedral of Our Lady of Paris, the Collection of Saigon, the Basilica of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, the Basilica of the Saigon Cathedral of Notre Dame, but we are talking about one place.
The basilica was built for three years, from 1877 to 1880. This is an illustrative example of French colonial architecture. All the materials for the construction were brought from France. The height of the bell towers is about 57 meters. On the square in front of a small square, in the center of which stands a statue of Our Lady of Peace.
Admission is free, but do not forget to show respect, take off your hats and take pictures more modestly (photography is prohibited). You can get into the temple even during the service.
You can visit Notre Dame Cathedral on your own, and it is also included in most sightseeing tours of Saigon. There is another attraction very close by - Central Post Office.

Due to the reconstruction, the working time is not known. Mass is held in the church on Sundays at 09:30.

🚶 How to get there
The Basilica of Notre Dame De Saigon is located in the city center and not far from Ben Thanh market at 1, Cong Xa Paris Street (Notre Dame De Saigon on the map). From the tourist area and from Ben Tan, you can get here on foot in 10-15 minutes. From other districts of Ho Chi Minh City it is better to go here by taxi or bus. If you do not understand the local routes, then you can use Google maps to find the bus number. A taxi ride around the city will cost from 30,000 VND (1.14 USD) when ordering via apps. It is also now possible to get there by metro, the nearest station is located next to Ben Tan market. It's more like everything about Ho Chi Minh City transport and what to use here.
