Saigon Central Post Office (Saigon Central Post Office) along with the nearby Notre Dame Cathedral is one of the most famous and popular architectural attractions of Ho Chi Minh City, a place of attraction for visitors to the city. It is a historical monument and a kind of architectural icon of the city.
The post office is still working and has even become a kind of tourist attraction. Having bought a postcard in one of the souvenir departments, you can sign it and send it to your family or friends as a keepsake. It costs about 50,000 VND (1.9 USD).
The premises of the post office are mainly used as a souvenir bazaar. In addition to magnets and postcards, many other goods for tourists are sold here. There is even a stand with excursions, including sightseeing tours around the city, prices start from 150,000 VND (5.69 USD).
The Post Office was built by the French in the period from 1886 to 1891 and became a model of European architecture. The impressive and beautiful appearance of the building with arched windows and elegant stucco involuntarily attracts attention. Notable elements on the facade of the building are the plates framed in stucco, which are located between the windows of the first floor, on them are written the names of people who made a significant contribution to the development of communication technologies of that time. In the central lobby, telephone booths have been preserved along the walls to the right and left, and above them are images of maps of Saigon and Cambodia for 1892.

🚶 How to get there
The Saigon Post Office is located in the city center, next to the Notre Dame Basilica and not far from Ben Thanh Market at 1, Cong Xa Paris Street (Central Post Office of Saigon on the map). From the tourist area and from Ben Tan, you can get here on foot in 10-15 minutes. From other districts of Ho Chi Minh City it is better to go here by taxi or bus. If you do not understand the local routes, then you can use Google maps to find the bus number. A taxi ride around the city will cost from 30,000 VND (1.14 USD) when ordering via apps.
