Chinese Temple of Guan Yu (Guan Yu) has several names in various sources and on maps - Chinese Assembly Hall Guan Yu Temple or Quan De Temple, or Ong Pagoda, or the Temple of the Lord. This is the oldest pagoda in Phan Thiet, it is almost 250 years old and it is notable for the fact that it is still preserved in its original form. From Ho Chi Minh City Museum the temple is only 200 meters away, so it's definitely worth a look here.
The temple was built in 1778 and is the largest religious object belonging to the Chinese community in Binh Thuan province. It is dedicated to the man-god Quan Thanh De Quan, who is worshipped by Chinese and Vietnamese followers. Inside there are many other revered deities (dragon head, horse figure). Every day you can observe simple rituals performed by believers, for example, fortune-telling on sticks, spreading bones, lighting incense.
In the pagoda once every two years, in the middle of June according to the Lunar calendar, a grandiose offering festival to the Lord is held.

🚶 How to get there
Guan Yu Temple is located in the center of Phan Thiet at 161 Tran Phu (temple on the map). You can get to it from the center of Phan Thiet from Coop Mart on foot (walk a little more than a kilometer). In turn, you can get to the center of Phan Thiet to the Coop Mart shopping center from the resort area of Mui Ne by city bus No. 1 for 20,000 DONG.
