Cave hospital is another historical landmark on Catba island along with Cannon Fort. This is a military hospital equipped in natural rock caves from 1963 to 1965 with the support of China for confrontation during the war with the United States. Due to the thick layer of rock, it was considered almost invulnerable to bombing by American aircraft. It functioned until 1975.
On three levels of the hospital there are 17 different rooms: operating room, communication room, wards, kitchen, cinema, room for secret negotiations, etc. But only two levels are available for inspection, the third is closed due to the threat of landslides. Inside are mannequins and exhibits, many of which are of Soviet origin. These are weapons and ammunition, communications equipment, a sealed door, etc. What is good, the ticket price includes a tour in broken Vietnamese-English, but the main points can be understood, and thanks to this, the visit becomes interesting. The complex is not very large, it will take 15-30 minutes to visit.

Working hours are not exactly observed, it works from about 07:00 to 17:00.

🚶 How to get there
The cave hospital is located 10 kilometers from Catba town on the way to Catba National Park (Cave hospital on the map). You can get here only by taxi or rented transport, there is a large sign on the road. Tickets are sold in a cafe across the street from the entrance to the cave, where you can park vehicles for 5000 VND.
