Description and is it worth a visit
Victoria Park is perhaps the most beautiful and well maintained urban park in Sri Lanka. In a sense, this is even a botanical garden, and some of the plants here are marked with tablets. If you cannot get to the Botanical Garden Kandy peradenia or Hakgala in the vicinity of Nuwara Eliya, then Victoria Park can easily replace them. There are, of course, no famous plants planted by famous people, or famous ancient or huge trees, but in general you will get acquainted with the exotic flora of the island.
Walks in the park are especially pleasant from March to May, and in August and September, when the flowers open their buds exuberantly. There are also several exotic species of birds. At the end of the park is a small children's playground. Near the entrance on the south side there is the Victoria Museum.
It is worth allocating 1-2 hours for a visit.
